Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit — Support to Micro and Small Enterprises

WIDU.africa supports job creation in Africa by redirecting remittances from the African diaspora in Europe into micro and small businesses of relatives or friends in participating African countries. The WIDU Grant supports new and existing businesses with up to €2,500. Currently, WIDU offers local calls targeting green businesses in Kenya and Ethiopia to support enterprises interested in building a sustainable green future in their communities. Target sectors include renewable energy, agriculture, and reduction of waste. Applicants need to either have an existing small business or a concrete business idea. International Fund for Agricultural Development — Remittance Innovation Champions

The Remittance Innovation Champions 2022 South Africa finances private sector initiatives that develop innovative and cost-effective international remittance services for marginalized populations, particularly women and the rural poor. Grants range from  €150 thousand to €300 thousand. IFAD welcomes strategic partnerships linking for-profit entities with non-profit organizations. Deadline for submissions is 07 October 2022. SEED — Starter Workshop for Eco-Enterprises in Thailand

The SEED Starter Program offers workshops to guide young entrepreneurs from early stages of ideation to the generation of a viable business plan. SEED Starter invites applications from teams who develop green and inclusive business solutions to key social and environmental challenges in Thailand. Participation in the workshops is free, although participants need to cover their transportation costs and accommodation. All SEED Starter participants consist of a team of 2-5 members. Participants will be eligible to apply for a SEED Grant (of up to €1,000) after successfully completing the workshop. The application deadline is 24 October 2022. SEED Starter Program Thailand

SEED and Go4SDGs — Webinar: LAC Future Lab

SEED and Go4SDGs organize the Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Future Lab for Innovation and Policy. The LAC Future Lab offers a platform to develop future-proof solutions for challenges in the agri-food sector. The Lab will discuss practical solutions and exemplary cases for the industry’s challenges. The Future Lab targets green SMEs and organizations, who work at the interface of business, civil society and politics supporting green SMEs or circular economy solutions. Government of Egypt — ClimaTech Run

ClimaTech is the global competition for tech-entrepreneurs and artists addressing the most pressing climate challenges. ClimaTech focuses on the use of information and communications technology in developing innovative solutions and new applications for climate action in the areas of energy, agriculture, and water management. The grand prize is US$100 thousand. A special prize will be given to the top two African startups. Participants must be a registered startup operating for over 2 years. EIT Climate-KIC — Blue Economy Accelerator

Climate-KIC seeks a service provider to deliver a virtual accelerator program for blue economy start-ups, social enterprises and not-for-profits in the Pacific Islands. The delivery organization must be based in the Pacific Islands and have a presence across multiple islands. The program will support 5-10 innovations with up to a maximum grant value of €80 thousand from across multiple Pacific Islands nations. This call is open to entrepreneurship support organizations located in Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu and Wallis & Futuna. Clean Cooking Alliance — Haiti Clean Cooking Fund

The Haiti Clean Cooking Fund provides financial and technical assistance to support the growth of clean cooking companies in Haiti. The size of individual awards will range from US$25 thousand to US$250 thousand. The Fund will give preference to companies that can provide matched funding (50%). The Fund is open to companies and nonprofit entities in Haiti. Non-Haitian Companies may participate, provided they have an interest in entering the Haitian market or partnering with a local Haitian entity to manufacture, supply, and distribute clean cooking solutions in Haiti on a commercial basis. SEED — Starter Workshop for Eco-Enterprises in Kenya

SEED offers valuable resources and professional support to expand entrepreneurial ideas while learning from peers during interactive SEED Starter workshops. SEED Starter workshops consist of a team of 2-5 members that bring in a business idea for addressing environmental, social and economic challenges. Successful alumni are invited to apply for a SEED Grant for up to €1,000 which pays for resources required to establish the new enterprise. Sankalp Global Summit — Global Awards 2022

The Sankalp Awards celebrate social entrepreneurs who are making a positive impact on society by creating innovative solutions with a global community. The Award recognizes the work of entrepreneurs who have been building an enabling ecosystem which provides the right resources and environment for entrepreneurs to thrive in. Applicants must run a high-impact business that caters to rural, low-income, or disadvantaged communities. Areas of impact include Agriculture, WASH, Clean Energy and Climate Solutions, among others. Islamic Development Bank — Empowering Youth for a Greener Future

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) invites youth-led non-profit organizations to propose new and innovative green ideas and solutions that will support training processes for young people living in post-crisis situations. The “Youth Green Skills Accelerator Challenge” seeks to equip youths (15-35 years old) living in Islamic States with the competencies required for supporting a just transition in their communities. Up to 10 finalists will receive mentoring and training for a period of one week to improve their projects. The top three ideas will be awarded US$50 thousand, US$30 thousand, and US$20 thousand respectively, to implement the proposed solution. Ideas must be submitted no later than 28 July 2023.
