The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) seeks applications for a cooperative agreement to implement the USAID/Mozambique Small Town Sanitation program. USAID aims to support the development of the WASH sector by implementing multiple activities focused on WASH governance and services in small towns. The applicant should implement activities that increase women’s leadership within the sector. USAID intends to provide US$14,4 million in total funding over a 4 year period. German Missions — Small Scale Projects in South Asia
Germany’s Federal Foreign Office supports small scale projects in South Asia that address the needs of the underprivileged. Direct financial assistance is provided to Indian and Bhutanese NGOs and religious institutions for the implementation of small-scale projects for the benefit of disadvantaged groups of society. Projects must have a clear focus on “Helping people to help themselves” and aim to improve living conditions, for example, through water supply, energy supply, food security, reconstructions after a natural disaster etc. The average funding amount is €23 thousand per project. Accelerate2030 supports entrepreneurs from developing and emerging markets to scale their solutions for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Accelerate2030 is a Scale Readiness Program that provides support based on specific needs, such as access to experts, mentors, and partners. While Accelerate2030 supports solutions to any SDGs, the program is particularly looking for solutions related to the Circular Economy, access to Good Health and Wellbeing and Clean Water. Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance — Ocean Resilience Innovation Challenge
The Ocean Risk and Resilience Action Alliance (ORRAA) seeks new finance and insurance innovations that build coastal resilience to ocean-derived risks. Organizations, local civil society, international NGOs and academia are invited to submit finance and insurance products that drive investment in coastal natural capital and increase resilience. Proposed projects must reduce ocean risk for the most vulnerable and protect biodiversity. Selected projects will receive customized support and benefit from tailored mentoring. GSMA — Innovation Fund for Climate Resilience and Adaptation
GSMA Innovation Fund for Climate Resilience and Adaptation seeks to help accelerate the testing, adoption and scalability of digital innovations that enable the world’s most vulnerable populations to adapt to the negative impacts of climate change. GSMA aims to test innovations that can increase the capacity of low-income and vulnerable communities to adapt, and develop approaches or business models that can be scaled to build climate resilience and adaptation. Successful projects will receive an equity-free grant of between £100 thousand and £250 thousand to scale their innovation over a 15 to 18 month period. The GrowUp Incubator supports early-stage entrepreneurs with innovative solutions that have the potential to create substantial environmental and social impact. The 2022 cohort of GrowUp Incubator addresses sustainable food systems in East Africa to enable sustainable agricultural production and support sustainable practices along the whole food value chain and to mitigate climate change and build resilient communities. Selected entrepreneurs receive tailored mentorship, interactive capacity building workshops and networking opportunities with local partners.
