Kurita Water and Environment Foundation – Water Research Grants 2024

The Kurita Water and Environment Foundation (KWEF) supports scientists of Asian nationality who are conducting water research. Research topics include technologies for water/wastewater treatment, water quality analysis, sustainability of water environment sanitation, water ecosystem, and agricultural water use – among other themes. Grants are up to ¥ 300 thousand per research project. Applicants should be under age 40. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in the ASEAN region

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in the ASEAN region. CFLI provides funding to projects that implement environment and climate action projects focusing on adaptation and mitigation, water management, and other thematic priorities. The average contribution is C$20 thousand to C$40 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to not-for-profit local, national, or community-based organizations. Association of Commonwealth Universities — Higher Education and SDGs Grants

The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) accepts applications for the Higher Education and the SDGs Challenge Grants to fund collaborative work around the sustainable development goals (SDGs). The grants are open to professional and academic staff at ACU member universities. Four grants of £2,500 are available. Applicants are encouraged to collaborate with member universities to promote further Commonwealth partnerships or other organizations such as local governments. The closing date is 02 June 2024. Melania Development Foundation — Support to Grassroots Womens’ Groups

Melania focuses on self-help projects that contribute to the improvement of the social, economic, and cultural position of women in Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America. Projects have to focus on income-generating activities, which may include agriculture (e.g., chicken farming, beekeeping, aquaculture, etc.) and several others. Melania invites and reviews project applications. Melania selects and proposes some of these projects to Dutch women’s groups for requested financial support. There is no calendar deadline. Earth Journalism Network — Seed Grants for Media Outlets in Nepal

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN)offers grants of €4,500 to media outlets in Nepal to support new media programming on natural resource management and green growth. The grants are intended to seed new programs, columns, or sections that focus on providing innovative and solutions-oriented information on green growth and natural resource management to the public and policymakers. Eligibility extends to media outlets in Nepal – including newspapers, online media, radio, television, multimedia platforms, and social media channels. The application deadline is 10 April 2024. Explore — Scholarships for PhD students

Explore will award partial scholarships of up to US$40 thousand to female doctoral students researching forest landscape governance in Southeast Asia. Eligible applicants must be women PhD students under 32 years old and be citizens of Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, or Timor-Leste. Applicants from any scientific discipline related to forest landscape governance are welcome. Applicants need to apply by 30 April 2024. Link

Village Capital — Greentech Asia

Village Capital launches an investment readiness program that supports startups with innovative solutions to accelerate sustainable development. The program currently accepts startups from Malaysia and Vietnam, addressing underestimated communities in the region. The program will run for twelve weeks. American Society of Primatologists — Conservation Grants 2024

The American Society of Primatologists (ASP) supports students and young researchers from habitat countries who are engaged in primate conservation. Grant proposals are invited for either captive or wild primate-oriented research projects. Applications for start-up funds, supplementary funding for students, and innovations in animal care and research technology are welcome. Award amounts range from US$500 to US$1500. United States-India Educational Foundation — Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Research Fellowships 2025-2026

The Fulbright-Nehru Postdoctoral Research Fellowships support Indians residing in India to pursue a master’s degree program at selected U.S. colleges and universities. The many eligible subject areas include environmental sciences such as agricultural sciences, natural resource management, pollution prevention, environmental law, environmental engineering, and environmental policy analysis (among others). SEED — Replicator Workshop for Eco-Enterprises

The SEED Replicator program offers incubation workshops to identify opportunities for enterprise creation and to guide aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners looking for partnerships to build an eco-inclusive business model. Successful alumni can apply for a SEED Grant which pays for your immediate necessary activities, measures, or machinery required to establish the new enterprise. SEED Replicator Program currently invites applications from entrepreneurs in India. Participation is free, although participants need to cover their transportation costs and accommodation.
