German Academic Exchange Service — Project-based Personnel Exchange Program with India

The ’Project-based Personnel Exchange Program’ (PPP) is a bilateral research promotion program to strengthen the collaboration between Indian and German research groups, which are working jointly on a particular scientific project. Financial support is available to support exchange visits to the partner institution and short term stays of scientists and doctoral students. The program is open to academics in the disciplines of agricultural sciences, veterinary medicine, forestry, medicine, life sciences, animal sciences, and others. University professors, scientists/researchers and post-doctoral researchers from German and Indian universities and those in permanent positions at public funded research institutes are eligible to apply. UK Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council — Partnerships with India

The BBSRC Partnering Awards aim to set up partnership links between UK and overseas laboratories, promote the exchange of scientists, particularly early career scientists, and to promote access to facilities. Funding of up to £30 thousand is available for a period of up to four years for partnerships with Indian bioscience laboratories. International partnerships focusing on the net zero carbon emissions target, through a sustainable, resilient and bio-diverse agri-food system are especially welcome. SEED — Starter Workshop for Eco-Enterprises in Thailand

The SEED Starter Program offers workshops to guide young entrepreneurs from early stages of ideation to the generation of a viable business plan. SEED Starter invites applications from teams who develop green and inclusive business solutions to key social and environmental challenges in Thailand. Participation in the workshops is free, although participants need to cover their transportation costs and accommodation. All SEED Starter participants consist of a team of 2-5 members. World Wildlife Fund U.S. — Reforestation Grants

The Reforestation Grant Program supports communities in deforested and degraded landscapes through forest restoration and reforestation. Reforestation grants are made to local organizations that focus on connecting corridors, creating buffer zones, improving degraded lands, restoring watersheds, and expanding forest cover. Greater Mekong Subregion Secretariat — Agriculture and Food Security Program

The Greater Mekong Subregion Secretariat invites applications for demonstration pilots of innovative technologies to supply safe and climate-friendly agri-food products in Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Thailand and Vietnam. Proposed demonstration projects should not exceed US$100 thousand. Government departments, civil society organizations, private companies, universities and research institutes can apply. European Commission — Civil Society Organizations Development

The European Commission seeks to contribute to green and inclusive economic growth in the Lao PDR by reinforcing the technical capacities of local civil society organizations to promote Climate Smart Agriculture with a special focus on youth and women. Project partners should prioritize the most vulnerable segments of the populations i.e. women, urban poor, low-income households, farmers, unemployed youth etc. Applicants may request up to €1.5 million for their action plans. Eligibility extends to non-profit civil society organizations established in a Member State of the European Union or in Lao PDR. The closing date for submission of proposals is 26 October 2022. Facebook announces its Community Accelerator Program to provide training, support and funding to enable great communities to make an even greater positive impact in the world. Facebook will award up to US$40 thousand per community and provide personalized coaching. The program is open to communities that have a presence in Facebook Groups with leaders who reside in the following countries: Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Mexico, Brazil, United States, Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh, United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, Tanzania, Egypt, Morocco, Lebanon, Jordan, United Arab Emirate & India. Climate Tracker — Just and Sustainable Energy

Climate Tracker invited applications for collaborative grants on just and sustainable energy transition in Southeast Asia. Fellows will receive training and be mentored by journalists and experts on a just energy transition. Selected fellows will benefit from grants to fund their in field reporting and publication and a network of like-minded journalists across the region. Thomson Reuters Foundation — Reporting on Food Security and Rural Development in South Asia

The Thomson Reuters Foundation invites journalists from South Asia to participate in a workshop, which will cover food security, food production, markets and climate issues. The program will build the capacity of journalists to cover critical rural development issues and will help them produce stories that matter to their audiences. Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund — Conservation in the Indo-Burma Biodiversity Hotspot

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) invites letters of inquiry (LOI) to empower local communities to engage in conservation and management of key biodiversity areas of Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. CEPF intends to make small grants of US$40 thousand and large grants of up to US$200 thousand. The call is open to NGOs, community groups, Indigenous People’s organizations, women’s groups, private companies and other civil society organizations.
