YES Bank — Cleantech Accelerator

The program YES SCALE Cleantech Accelerator seeks startups focusing on energy efficiency, waste management and water management. Selected startups receive a grant of up to US$30 thousand, plus mentoring and project support. Eligibility extends to Indian and globally based startups. India Department of Science and Technology — Danish-Indian Research Cooperation in Renewable Energy

The Innovation Fund Denmark (IFD) and the India Department of Science and Technology (DST) launch a call for joint projects to further develop and strengthen the Danish-Indian research cooperation in the areas Renewable Energy. The Danish and Indian applicants must develop one joint project plan. Project proposals must include one Principal Investigator (PI) each in India and Denmark. Mission Innovation — Carbon Capture Innovation Challenge

Mission Innovation (MI) seeks to identify technologies in the field of CO2 capture, separation, storage and CO2 value addition. The funding of US$ 200 thousand to US$1 million under this call will be available to support activities towards design, research & development of technologies that can address widely affordable ways for carbon capture. The project has to be led by a scientist from India with the participation of at least one MI member country (including China, Indonesia, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia, among others). India Department of Science and Technology — Joint Call on Urban Water Systems

The India Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO) seeks projects that design one joint Indian-Dutch research programme to develop integrated and sustainable urban water management systems and implement effective solutions. The call seeks participants for a multiday interactive brainstorm workshop in India (27-30 November 2018), in which a selected group of Indian and Dutch researchers will be mobilised to jointly design the research programme. Indo-US Science and Technology Forum — Bhaskara Advanced Solar Energy Fellowships and Internships 2018

The IUSSTF invites Indian applicants to apply for the Bhaskara fellowships and student internships for research on solar energy at reputed scientific/technological institutions in the USA. Preference will be given to research aimed at issues of solar energy in India. Eligibility extends to Indian PhD students and researchers in publicly-funded R&D laboratories, S&T institutions (non-private), and recognized academic institutes in India. WWF-India offers grants up to INR 400 thousand for conservation research or action projects of up to two years. Grants are made to individuals to be utilized primarily for field activities. Mission Innovation — Prize for Energy Innovations

Through its Champions Program, Mission Innovation seeks to recognize exceptional researchers and innovators who are developing new ways of making clean energy cheaper and more reliable by using it more efficiently. MI Champions will participate in the fourth MI ministerial (MI-4) meeting in Canada (May 2019). Safari Club International Foundation — Grants for Wildlife Conservation and Research 2019-2020

The SCI Foundation funds projects and direct wildlife programs dedicated to wildlife conservation, research, and outdoor education in Africa, Asia, and North America. Grants are up to US$50 thousand per year. The application deadline is 31 October 2018. Link

U.S. Department of State — Fisheries Management and Governance

The U.S. Bureau of Oceans – Int. Environmental – Scientific (OES) makes cooperative agreements to support fisheries management and governance in U.S. FTA countries. Projects should focus on improving the science-based management of fisheries; monitoring measures to ensure compliance with fisheries regulations; and combating illegal fishing. OES will award one cooperative agreement of up to US$500 thousand or two cooperative agreements of up to US$250 thousand each. UK Natural Environment Research Council — Towards a Sustainable Earth

The UK Natural Environment Research Council and funding partners invite proposals for the Towards a Sustainable Earth (TaSE) initiative, which aims to improve our understanding of the complex interactions between people and the environment required to make progress in achieving the United Nations Global Goals (Sustainable Development Goals). Applicants are invited to submit multilateral collaborative research proposals comprising eligible researchers from a minimum of three nations (Eligible funding agencies can be found in the call for proposals).
