YALI Regional Leadership Center — West Africa Emerging Leaders Program

The YALI West Africa Emerging Leaders Program provides business and entrepreneurship training to young West African leaders from Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Gambia and Burkina Faso. The program will teach young leaders (between 18 to 35 years) about modern leadership through coursework (in-person or online), a mentorship program, internship or community service, and report writing. Applicants have to be proficient in reading, writing, listening and speaking English. Applications close on 19 March 2023. YALI West Africa

OPEC Fund for International Development — Young Professional Development Program

The Young Professional Development Program (YPDP) is a two-year program designed to prepare young professionals from OPEC Fund member countries for a career in global development. The themes include poverty reduction, energy and sustainable development, environment, and other related science and technology fields. YPDP offers training, coaching and mentoring, the opportunity to experience different departments and access to professional networks. To be selected for the program, applicants must be 30 years of age (or younger) and hold a Master’s degree. The deadline for applications is 24 March 2023. More about the YPDP

SEED — Starter Workshop for Eco-Enterprises in India

SEED offers valuable resources and professional support to expand entrepreneurial ideas while learning from peers during interactive SEED Starter workshops. SEED Starter workshops consist of a team of 2-5 members that bring in a business idea for addressing environmental, social and economic challenges. Successful alumni are invited to apply for a SEED Grant for up to €1,000 which pays for resources required to establish the new enterprise. U.S. Embassy Morocco — Women in STEM Mentorship Program

The U.S. Embassy Morocco announces an open grant competition to award a cooperative agreement to organize a Women in STEM Mentorship Program. The program will foster a community of women in STEM and will provide a platform for young women to connect with each other. Funding of up to US$70 thousand is available for the implementation of the program. The Embassy invites proposals from established Moroccan associations, committed, and organized civil-society organizations. The closing date for applications is 24 April 2023. Link

United Nations World Food Programme — Fighting Hunger Worldwide

The World Food Program (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. The program seeks profit and non-profit organizations with great ideas and bold solutions to solve hunger globally. The Innovation Accelerator offers financial support, training and access to WFP partners and technical experts. International Journalists’ Programmes — Fellowship for Climate and Energy Topics

International Journalists’ Programmes (IJP) announces a special fellowship for journalists interested in reporting in the field of climate and energy. Ten journalists, who are granted the climate & energy bursary, will receive training, support, and are welcome to pursue transnational research on a common topic during their fellowship. Each fellow will receive a stipend of €3.800 to help cover travel costs, accommodation and personal expenses. Eligibility extends to journalists working for any print, radio, online or TV media in Germany, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, and Slovakia. Asian Forest Cooperation Organization — Landmark Scholarship Program

The Asian Forest Cooperation Organization (AFoCO) calls for applications for the “2023-2024 Landmark Scholarship Program”. AFoCO will select one candidate for doctoral degree course and three candidates for a master’s degree course. Applicants must be citizens of ASEAN Member Countries, namely Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand or Vietnam. Acumen Academy — Artisanal Fisheries Leadership Program

Acumen Academy and the Environmental Defense Fund launch a Latin American Artisanal Fisheries Leadership Program for Change Agents leading equitable and sustainable fisheries initiatives. The program is open to leaders with at least 5 years of experience leading artisanal fishing organizations or initiatives or within fishing communities. The program offers leadership training and a strong community to develop future projects. The program only accepts applications from change agents from the artisanal fishing industry working in any Latin American country, including Caribbean countries. Village Capital — Ecosystem Restoration

Village Capital invites applications for the “Innovation for Ecosystem Restoration: LatAm 2023” accelerator. The  program addresses entrepreneurs championing forest restoration, restoration of aquatic production ecosystems and rewilding throughout Latin America. Participants will receive mentorship and access to an investment analyst. Eligibility extends to (for-profit) startups building locally viable ecosystem restoration solutions. World Resources Institute — Land Accelerator Brazil

The Land Accelerator is a training and mentorship program targeted specifically toward businesses that restore degraded forests, farmland, and pasture. The Land Accelerator Brazil specifically targets entrepreneurs whose businesses restore Brazil’s Atlantic Forest. Participants profit from mentorship and networking opportunities, technical training, and workshops. Five companies will receive financial support of up to R$50 thousand.
