Global Landscapes Forum — Social Media Ambassadors
The Global Landscapes Forum launches a call for young voices from all over the world to become GLF Social Media Ambassadors for 2023. The volunteer program offers free tickets and a behind-the-scenes look at all GLF and partner events, social media workshops and learning programs and a personalized certificate. Alfred Wegner Institute — Training in Observational Oceanography
The Alfred Wegner Institute hosts the Nippon Foundation-POGO Centre of Excellence. The program provides training and career development in observational oceanography, using facilities at Helgoland and Sylt in the North Sea. The next training program is open to participants from developing and emerging countries. Trainees must have at least a first degree in science. Preference will be given to applicants who currently hold a position in a research or academic institution in a developing country, and who anticipate returning to the country after completion of the training. The Asia Research Institute (ARI) invites applications from citizens of Asian countries for the Asian Graduate Student Fellowship. This opportunity includes a virtual fellowship and an in-person fellowship. Selected participants will undergo an intensive six-week program of independent research, training in academic writing, and mentorship meetings. Participants will take part in an intensive course on English academic writing. The Young One World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 12 seeks to reduce waste and the release of toxins into the environment which will ultimately improve health outcomes. Projects should focus on the link between waste and health, recycling or reuse programs for individuals or companies, or preventing food waste and food loss. The challenge welcomes solutions from young innovators (18-30 years old). University of Pennsylvania — Visiting Fellowship for African Scholars
The Penn Development Research Initiative (DevLab at the University of Pennsylvania) seeks to build capacity for rigorous research on pressing policy challenges facing low- and middle-income countries, by providing training and research opportunities for emerging researchers. The university invites researchers from Sub-Saharan Africa to apply for a semester-long fellowship for the 2023 Fall semester (September – December 2023). Visiting fellows will have the opportunity to audit doctoral-level classes, carry out independent research and present their research.
