Social Shifters announces the Global Innovation Challenge to help young leaders and founders to solve the social or environmental issues that matter to them. The challenge seeks creative ideas, projects, and business solutions to the problems that matter to local communities and welcomes ideas from anywhere in the world. Participants compete for awards of up to US$10 thousand to deliver activities that improve lives, help communities, and protect the planet. The International Water Resources Association (IWRA) invites early-career water professionals to submit applications for the Publication Mentorship Initiative. The program aims to facilitate and encourage mentoring junior water professionals through the development of articles that are publishable in academic journals. Applicants must be academics, advanced post-graduate students, or professionals working in the water sector no older than 35 years. Applications must be submitted no later than 31 July 2023. The SEED Replicator program offers incubation workshops to identify opportunities for enterprise creation and to guide aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners looking for partnerships to build an eco-inclusive business model. Successful alumni can apply for a SEED Grant which pays for your immediate necessary activities, measures or machinery required to establish the new enterprise. SEED Replicator Program currently invites applications from entrepreneurs in India. Participation is free, although participants need to cover their transportation costs and accommodation. International Centre for development oriented Research in Agriculture — International Courses for Agricultural Professionals 2023
ICRA supports education and capacity strengthening in agriculture and the rural sector in the developing world. ICRA offers specialized training courses for agricultural professionals each year. ICRA’s courses qualify for OKP/MSP scholarships funded by the Dutch government. Each scholarship program has separate application deadlines. New Zealand Aid Program — Collaborate Pacific Fund
Collaborate Pacific aims to support effective governance, leadership, regional cooperation, and sustainable development in the Pacific. The fund supports small-scale activities in thematic priority areas: Agriculture, Climate Change, Oceans and Fisheries, Renewable Energy, and many other development priorities. Funding can cover travel (including transport, accommodation, and meals) and event costs (including hosting costs). Open Society Foundations — Course in Climate Justice
The Island Innovation Caribbean Climate Justice Leaders Academy is open for applications. The interactive course will run from mid-July 2023 to January 2024. The program aims to build the capacity of young professionals, eligible students, and young community leaders working in the Caribbean region. Participants will receive expert training and capacity building through online training sessions from climate experts. Earth Journalism Network — Reporting on Air Pollution
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) invites journalists from Nairobi (Kenya) to apply for a story grant to report on air pollution in the city. Journalists are encouraged to examine the key sources of air pollution in Nairobi and its impacts on the local environment, economy and health, among other topics. U.S. Department of State — Combating Wildlife Trafficking through Outreach and Awareness
The U.S. Government announces an open competition for organizations interested in submitting applications for projects that counter trafficking of endangered and protected species for use in traditional medicine globally. The U.S. Government will mobilize resources, and strengthen operational capacity to combat nature crimes, including wildlife and timber trafficking. The program goal is to engage civil society and/or local NGOs in the prevention of trafficking of endangered and protected species. Funding ranges from US$500 thousand to US$1 million.
