U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service — Great Ape Conservation Fund (Africa)
The Great Ape Conservation Fund (Africa) is open to project proposals for the conservation of orangutans and gibbons throughout their ranges in Africa. Grants are for applied research, training, conservation management, community outreach, law enforcement, decreased human-wildlife conflicts, and other activities in conservation. About 15-20 grants will be awarded, ranging from US$50 thousand to a maximum of US$450 thousand. The African Academy of Sciences (AAS) Affiliates Membership Program aims to stimulate and nurture scientific discovery and technological innovation in Africa in order to promote sustainable development. The African Elephant Conservation Fund invites project proposals for the conservation of African elephants. Grants are for applied research, training, conservation management, community outreach, law enforcement, decreased human-wildlife conflicts, and other activities in elephant conservation. Grants range from US$100 thousand to US$400 thousand for conservation projects at priority sites, but requests for smaller grants are also welcomed. Eligibility for funding extends to qualified individuals; nonprofit NGOs, institutions of higher education; multi-national secretariats; and government agencies in elephant range states. WASCAL — Master Research in Informatics for Climate Change
The Master Research Program in Informatics for Climate Change (MRP-INFORMCC) is implemented at the Université Joseph KI-ZERBO (Burkina Faso) and provides training in scientific computation and climate data management in West Africa. The West African Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) offers full scholarships to students from 11 West African countries. Thought For Food — Food Systems Game Changers Lab
The Food Systems Game Changers Lab supports game-changers who have ideas, initiatives, or innovations that have the potential to bring positive change to global food systems. The Lab will offer facilitation, learning resources, expert coaching, live sessions, and tailored mentorship programs. Participants are not required to be registered as a legal entity (company, nonprofit, government) and can submit solutions as an individual or a team. Ideas have to be submitted before 14 May 2021. ygap — Support for Female Entrepreneurs in the Asia-Pacific region
The yher accelerator provides support to female entrepreneurs and female-led impact ventures across the Pacific Islands region. The aim of the program is to provide solutions to poverty by empowering women. The program provides access to mentors, training and a week-long intensive training workshop. Winners of the peer review will receive AU$10 thousand in funding and the chance to apply for an additional AU$40 thousand in grant funding to help scale their venture. Yunus&Youth — Fellowship Program for Social Entrepreneurs
The Yunus&Youth Fellowship Program is a six-month online program for young social entrepreneurs from all around the world. The program is designed for young early-stage social business leaders that have the potential to solve community-based problems with focus on the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Participants will be matched with a mentor, participate in expert webinars with business professionals and receive help with business plan development. In the final stage of the program, fellows will present their social businesses to a team of real investors to shape their presentation skills and test their pitch decks. Nuffic announces a grant program to develop and strengthen the skills of women and young girls. The program is aimed at professionals and organizations that provide education and training within the priority themes of the Dutch government (Water, Food and Nutrition Security, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, and Security and Rule of Law). Grants can be used for training initiatives and capacity building programs that address specifically the needs of women. The maximum subsidy is €75 thousand per tailor-made training.
