Young Water Solutions — Young Water Fellowship West Africa

The Young Water Fellowship targets young entrepreneurs. Selected Fellows will be invited to participate in a 10-days training workshop in Ivory Coast. The workshop aims to empower its participants to implement projects addressing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), water pollution, and water scarcity. All training costs (flights, transportation, accommodation, meals) are covered by the organization. To be eligible, applicants must be 18 to 30 years old, be fluent in French, intend to stay in Ivory Coast for at least 1.5 years after the training and spend at least 15 hours per week to work on their social business. U.S. Department of Agriculture — International Agricultural Education Fellowship Program

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) provides opportunities to U.S. citizens to assist developing countries in establishing school-based agricultural education programs. Proposals should include classroom instruction, field demonstrations, entrepreneurship projects, and leadership development. The proposed project has to be supported by the host country’s government, agriculture community, and local authorities. USDA expects to make to awards of US$500 thousand each. U.S. Department of State — Networks to Combat Conservation Crimes

The US Department of State announces a notice of funding opportunity for for mapping illicit supply networks to combat conservation crimes at their convergence in eligible developing countries. The goal is to identify, analyze, and map the illicit networks associated with conservation crimes in Peru, Colombia, Gabon, Ghana, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Proposed projects are expected to deliver recommendations for policy and materials to aid technical capacity development efforts. The total available funding under this call is US$493,750. Climate Tracker — Online Course: Climate Journalism

Climate Tracker’s Train-the-Trainer course covers basic journalism skills, such as pitching, article-framing, interviewing, data visualization in the context of human-interest climate journalism. Participants will receive a certificate of completion to demonstrate their competence as a climate communication trainer. The e-course is open for participants worldwide. More information

Swedish International Development Agency — Training Course: Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation in Sub-Saharan Africa

Sida funds short-term training in selected development topics for participants from developing countries. The program has a strong focus on agriculture and water resources, planning and communication of climate information. Organizations in Kenya, Sudan, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe are invited to nominate candidates for the Advanced International Training Programme “Climate change – Mitigation and Adaptation.” Sida will cover the costs of the program fee and required literature as well as accommodation, meals, health insurance, and international travel. IDEX Accelerator — Virtual Fellowship Program

IDEX invites applications worldwide for a Virtual Fellowship Program. The virtual program is designed to enable young professionals to acquire the tools and resources they need for a successful career in social entrepreneurship. Each fellow will gain access to online learning labs with 3-4 social enterprises from across the globe, webinars, and community engagement. Africa YES Centre — Social Entrepreneurship Training Program

The Africa Young Entrepreneur Support (YES) Program is a 6-month intensive fully sponsored entrepreneurship training that provides young African social entrepreneurs (between 18-29 years) with the resources they need to create impact in their local communities. 30 selected candidates will receive hands-on training sessions, mentorship and access to up to US$15 thousand in grants. Please note that the program requires candidates to be in Nairobi for the entire program period because travel and accommodation is not covered. U.S. Department of State — Wildlife Trafficking and Illegal Mining in West Africa

The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), invites applications from qualified U.S. and foreign non-profit organizations (including NGOs), and educational institutions to implement a program entitled “Wildlife Trafficking and Illegal Mining Research Projects.” INL will support programs that improve INL’s knowledge of wildlife trafficking and illegal mining that will help inform future capacity building programs. WASCAL — Master’s Program on Climate Change and Marine Sciences

The Technical University of Atlantic (Cabo Verde) seeks applications for its Master’s Program on Climate Change and Marine Sciences (MP-CCMS). The West African Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) offers scholarships to African MSc students. The program includes English language training for participants from Francophone countries, three semesters of joint Master’s courses, shipboard training, and a scientific trip to a German partner institution. To eligible for this scholarship, applicants must be citizens of Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, or Togo. U.S. Mission to Indonesia — Combating Environmental Crime

The U.S. Mission to Indonesia provides financial assistance to build the capacity of law enforcement, government institutions, and local civil society organizations to prevent and report on environmental crimes in Indonesia. Capacity-building activities could include but are not limited to financial analysis ; conducting workshops, hosting conferences, or facilitating study tours. Individual awards are not to exceed US$225 thousand. Eligibility extends to U.S. based and overseas-based non-profit organizations (NGOs) or educational institutions. Please note that this is a two-step application process. Applicants must first submit a short concept note. Selected applicants will then be invited to submit full proposal.
