University of East Anglia — International Development Excellence Scholarships for Brazil Students

The University of East Anglia invites applications for the International Development Excellence Scholarships for the academic year 2020/21 for students from Brazil. Acceptable masters degree subjects include agriculture and rural development, climate change and international development, environment and international development, amongst others. Eligibility extends to Brazilian citizens that have an undergraduate degree from a recognized university. The five scholarships offered range between £7,000 to £8,000 for successful candidates during their master’s studies in the UK. There is no deadline set for the scholarship, however, the deadline for the masters degree application 2020/2021 at East Anglia University is 31 July 2020. More about the scholarship

Kinship Foundation — Conservation Workshop

The Kinship Foundation invites participants to the Kinship Conservation Workshop in India. During the workshop, participants will learn how economic tools can be applied to enhance community-based conservation projects, study the successes and failures of incentive-based conservation in India, as well as globally, and be introduced to alternative pathways to achieve conservation impact. Applicants should be mid-career conservation practitioners from India with at least three years of field experience in natural resources management. Kinship Foundation will cover all workshop expenses, including lodging, food, classroom materials and field trips. EarthCorps — Crew Member International Program 2020

EarthCorps invites applications from emerging environmental leaders around the world to participate in an environmental training program in the USA. Participants from the USA and other countries take part in field projects such as invasive plant removal and control, native plant installation (planting), restoration site maintenance, trail construction/maintenance, volunteer management, and erosion control. The Crew Member Program is a 6-month learning experience for non-U.S. citizens, which takes place in Seattle, Washington, USA. Applicants should be 18-28 years of age, with a university degree in an environmental field (or equivalent work experience), and speak conversational English. International participants receive a living stipend, health insurance, and accommodation with host families. Priority consideration will be given to applications received by 31 December 2019. Flemish Inter-University Council — International Training Programme on ‘eR-Biostat’

VLIR-UOS is the secretariat of Flemish universities for development cooperation, with funding by Belgian Development Cooperation. VLIR-UOS announces the International Training Programme on ‘eR-Biostat’ that will take place at Hasselt University, Belgium. The program aims to train the participants in using and developing a new E-learning system in Biostatistics/Statistics. Eligibility for scholarships extends to applicants in 31 developing countries of Southeast Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America. Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture — Seed Funding for Research and Training in Food Security

The Seed Fund for Research and Training (SFRT) is open to individuals in ASEAN member countries for competitive grants up to US$15 thousand in research and training related to agriculture and rural development. Applications are due before 01 August of each year. Link

Earthwatch Institute — Earthwatch Shulman Awards 2019/20

The Earthwatch Shulman Awards provide research and training grants to early-career environmental scientists. The grant offers support to conduct scientific research, join and present at conferences and implement environmental research in the focus areas sustainable agricultural land management, urban green spaces (including gardens and parks), and reducing water pollution. Two selected projects will receive a grant of £4 thousand and four runners up will receive a grant of £500 to spend on conservation-based training. Royal Society of Biology — Travel Grants for Members 2020

The Royal Society of Biology is the leading professional body for the biological sciences in the UK, representing approximately 14,000 biologists and over 90 organisations. Each year, the Society offers twenty grants of £500 to members for overseas travel in connection with biological study, teaching, or research. The next application deadline is 01 March 2020. AIC Sangam — Clean-Tech Incubator

AIC Sangam seeks innovative clean-tech startups working in Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan. The Incubator is interested in a proof of concept or a working prototype regarding Climate Change. The Incubator program provides access to labs, professional advisors, mentors, and collaboration, with leading organizations from clean tech and allied industries. United States Agency for International Development — Power Africa: Young Leaders in the Energy Sector

Power Africa accepts applications from young leaders in the energy sector to participate in a four-week career development training workshop (February/March 2020). Successful applicants will be provided round-trip transportation, lodging, meals, and course materials. Young leaders (between 18-35 years) from Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Lesotho, Malawi, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Eswatini, Zambia, and Zimbabwe with experience in the energy sector are eligible to apply. World Bank Group — Supporting Women Micro-Entrepreneurs

The World Bank Group invites applications for the “Sustainable Development Goals and Her Competition.” SDGs & Her is an online competition for women micro-entrepreneurs to showcase how they are supporting the SDGs through their business operations. Winners will receive leadership training, mentoring and will be flown to Washington DC, for an event at the World Bank Group-IMF Spring Meetings (April 2020).
