The APEC Climate Center (APCC) accepts applications for a training program with the subject of user-oriented statistical downscaling of climate change scenarios for agriculture and water resources to be held in Korea (15-20 October 2018). The 1-week training program aims to provide information and technical support for better regional planning and reduction of economic losses caused by adverse climate conditions. Scientists and working level staff from national research institutes in agriculture and/or water-related fields in developing countries, preferably APEC economies, are invited to apply. The Tata Trusts supports philanthropic initiatives in the fields of water, energy, rural development, and others. The Tata Trusts Travel Grant scheme provides partial travel assistance to professionals and other employed people to enhance their professional or work-related skills through relevant training programmes and workshops. International Fund for Agricultural Development — Climate-smart Aquaculture
IFAD seeks proposals for grants to implement a project on “Advancing Technologies and Capacity Building for Climate-smart Aquaculture”. The IFAD will support adaptive research, technology transfer and piloting climate smart aquaculture technologies worldwide. Capacity building in technologies for national aquaculture research will be supported in the targeted countries Eritrea, Ethiopia and Egypt. The IFAD grant amount under this call is up to US$1 million. The recipient of this grant can be an inter-governmental organization, a non-profit organization, an university or a private sector entity. The Cooperative Endangered Species Conservation Fund makes grants for projects that conserve the world’s most endangered species. Applicant must demonstrate a direct conservation benefit to the species or its habitat. While funding can only be granted to government agencies, individuals or groups may work with an eligible state government. Columbus Zoo and Aquarium — Conservation Grants 2018
The Columbus Zoo makes conservation grants for research, local community involvement, capacity building, environmental education, and behavior change leading to improved conservation of wildlife and habitat. Grant requests may range from US$1 thousand to US$25 thousand, but grants are limited to US$5 thousand for first-time applicants. First-time applicants must submit a pre-proposal. Engineers Without Borders Canada (EWB) invites applications for the EWB Kumvana Fellowship 2019. UK Arts and Humanities Research Council — Early Career Researcher Project Development Workshop
The GCRF programme launches a new funding scheme for Early Career Researchers (ECRs), supporting research that considers the relationship between young people and civil society organisations (CSO) in post-conflict countries. Over the course of the two-day workshop (25-26 October 2018 in London, UK), participants will develop their project ideas, receive critical feedback and insight from international peers and experts. After the workshop, participants will have 5 weeks to submit their application.
