African Women’s Development Fund — Empowering African Women

The African Women’s Development Fund supports organizations working towards the empowerment of African women and the achievement of gender equality on the continent. To increase income opportunities for women, projects can work with smallholder women farmers, and address issues of climate change and food security. Applicant organizations must have at least three years of experience, be led by a woman, and have a focus on women’s rights. Grants range from US$20 thousand to US$500 thousand for up to two years. Israeli Agency for International Development Cooperation — Professional Courses in Israel 2018

MASHAV funds professional courses organized and hosted by Israeli institutions in subject areas that include agriculture, energy, natural resources, health, education, and social development. The remainder of the 2018 calendar in English-language courses includes one on Agricultural Engineering Technologies (October-November 2018), with an application deadline on 05 August 2018; Agroecological Approaches for Sustainable Intensive Agriculture (October-November 2018), with an application deadline on 20 August 2018; Urban Water Technologies and Management (November 2018), with an application deadline on 24 August 2018; Renewable Energy as a Catalyst for Regional Development (November-December  2018), with an application deadline on 31 August 2018; and Intensive Fish Farming (December 2018), with an application deadline on 28 September 2018. MASHOV offers additional courses in Spanish, French, and Russian. Applications are submitted through Israel’s diplomatic missions. For most courses, MASHAV covers course fees, accommodation, medical insurance, and other expenses in Israel (but not international airfare). Link

Safari Club International Foundation — Grants for Wildlife Conservation and Research 2019-2020

The SCI Foundation funds projects and direct wildlife programs dedicated to wildlife conservation, research, and outdoor education in Africa, Asia, and North America. Grants are up to US$50 thousand per year. The application deadline is 31 October 2018. Link

International RiverFoundation — Fellowship for Women in Water Management

The International RiverFoundation invites applications for the Vera Thiess Fellowship for Women. Women from developing countries get the opportunity to gain valuable work experience through the IRF and its partners, with the goal of advancing women’s participation in water and river management. The Foundation offers a 3 to 6 months fellowship consisting of project work, funding for travel and participation in the International Riversymposium (Australia). IHE Delft Institute for Water Education — Training Programme on Water Management for the Arab Region

IHE Delft, Clingendael and WaterFocus invite applications for the Shiraka (previously Matra-Zuid) training programme on Water Management from civil servants from the Arab region. The two week workshop will take place in The Hague (The Netherlands) from 20 to 31 August 2018. The Dutch government will take care of all relevant costs for participants from countries on the OECD-DAC list. The courses will be in English, with interpretation into [Arabic/ French]. Google.org — Google Impact Challenge Nigeria

The Google Impact Challenge Nigeria supports non-profit organizations and social enterprises with game-changing ideas to create economic opportunity in their communities. Finalists get access to Google.org funding, mentorship and resources. Four winners will receive a US$250 thousand grant each and training from Google. Government of India — Training Courses in India

The Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme invites international candidates from developing countries to apply for training courses scheduled during October-December in India. Topics for this period include courses in the themes of power, renewable & alternative energy; agriculture and rural development; environment & climate change; and others. The program covers transportation and visa costs, course fees, accommodation, and living and book allowances for course participants. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations — Sustainable Forestry in Mozambique

The FAO-EU FLEGT Programme invites applications from governmental institutions, civil society and private sector organizations that contribute to the reduction of illegal logging and strengthen the trade of legal forest products through improved forest governance in Mozambique. Southeast Asian Regional Centre for Tropical Biology — Training Courses, Seminars, and Workshops 2018

The Southeast Asian Regional Centre for Tropical Biology (SEAMO BIOTROP) aims to increase the knowledge and skills of ASEAN professionals and students on a wide range of topics in tropical biology. Unless otherwise indicated, training courses are conducted at the SEAMEO BIOTROP headquarter in Bogor, Indonesia. Priority is for nationals of SEAMEO member countries, especially in the sponsored courses. The remaining BIOTROP courses and seminars for 2018 are scheduled from July through October. DSM — Brighter Living Scholarship

DMS offers 4 scholarships to young leaders from Zambia and Ethiopia, who are working in the field of nutrition to deliver nutritional solutions for their communities. The scholarship seeks candidates who develop/implement programs to eliminate post-harvest losses for small holder farmers, among others.
