Claves21, in partnership with the Earth Journalism Network, has launched a free online course on biodiversity for Spanish-speaking journalists.The course will begin on March 12th and cover biodiversity science and policy, how to communicate on biodiversity, and digital tools to support biodiversity reporting. The three best final works will receive a cash award, consisting of a diploma and $ 5,000 (Argentine Pesos) for the first place, $ 4,000 for the second place and $ 3,000 for the third place.The submission of a journalistic work is required for the approval of the course. U.S. Department of State — Aspiring Women Entrepreneurs Program
The US Department of State provides entrepreneurship training, mentoring, and support for female students currently enrolled at Indian universities. Ideas may be based on scientific or technological research undertaken at the university or innovation created by the student independently. Selected participants will take part in a six-week online course, meet for an intense weekend workshop at the Nexus Startup Hub at the American Center New Delhi, and travel to Texas for a two-week program exploring commercial opportunities and markets. ETH Zurich, in Switzerland, supports the exchange of young researchers between Switzerland and China. Swiss senior researchers from universities or research institutes and from all scientific disciplines can apply to host young Chinese scholars or apply to send one of their PhD students to China to conduct research. United Nations University — Climate Fellowship Programme
The UNFCCC–UNU Early Career Climate Fellowship Programme offers young people from developing countries the opportunity to start their career at the interface between international climate policy development and research. Fellowships may last from six months to two years. Climate Fellows will be able to work in their home countries or internationally, deploying the valuable experience and insights they have gained during the programme. Applicants must be enrolled in their final term or have recently graduated from an advanced university degree programme in environment, climate change, communications, international relations or a related field. SEED — SAG-Seed Replicator Workshops for Eco-Enterprises in Ghana
SEED is a global partnership founded by UNEP, UNDP, and IUCN to promote eco-enterprises. The program announces its next replicator workshop in Ghana. The replicator workshop of one day introduce motivated individuals to proven business models from various countries. Participants will learn how to adapt them to your individual local context to solve environmental, social and economic challenges. Focus areas are waste management and sustainable tourism. The São Paulo School of Advanced Science on Ocean Interdisciplinary Research and Governance (SPSAS Ocean) will hold a 2-week training and networking session in August 2018 on ocean science. The Food and Nutrition Technical Unit (UTSAN) calls for projects that aim to improve the food and nutritional security of rural households in Honduras. Proposed projects must focus on training/capacity building of Indigenous and local leaders in SAN and resilience in the Dry Corridor of West Honduras. Grants requested under this call must be between €400 and €500 thousand for projects of up to 20 months. Eligibility extends to non-profit NGOs, universities and/or research centers established in the Republic of Honduras or in a Member State of the European Union. Fondation Nature & Decouvertes supports projects for nature protection, environmental education, and public awareness in France. Additionally, a few grants support projects with similar themes in Francophone Africa.
