TravelGrants — Youth Travel Grant Opportunity 2019

TravelGrants supports young activists, changemakers, charities, students, social media influencers, and artists from around the world with travel grants. The travel project must represent an opportunity to gain intercultural knowledge and learn about an environment other than the applicants. The winner will receive a US$500 travel grant. American Society for Microbiology — Visiting Research Professorships in Microbiology

American Society for Microbiology (ASM), in partnership with the Indo-US Science & Technology Forum (IUSSTF), announces the ASM-IUSSTF Indo-US Professorship in Microbiology. This program seeks to broaden scientific collaboration between India and the United States though travel grants that support research and teaching partnerships. A grant up to US$5 thousand is provided to cover travel costs, visa and contingencies. Funds must be matched by the host institution (note: matching grants may be in-kind contributions). Indo-US Science and Technology Forum — Biotechnology Fellowships in USA

The IUSSTF announces the 2020 Khorana Program for Scholars. The program will provide a stipend, airfare, and health insurance to enable Indian students to undertake 10-12 weeks of research at U.S. universities in areas of biotechnology, including agricultural biotechnology. International RiverFoundation — Fellowship for Women in Water Management

The International RiverFoundation invites applications for the Vera Thiess Fellowship for Women. Women from developing countries get the opportunity to gain valuable work experience through the IRF and its partners, with the goal of advancing women’s participation in water and river management. The Foundation offers a 3 to 6 months fellowship consisting of project work, funding for travel, and participation in the 2020 International Riversymposium (China). Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum — Water Advanced Research and Innovation Fellowships

The Water Advanced Research and Innovation Fellowships fund Indian participants to gain exposure and access to research facilities in water resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Daugherty Water for Food Institute. Fellowships of three to twelve months are for Indian scientists holding a PhD in water science and engineering. Internships of three to six months are for individuals currently engaged in their PhD studies in water sciences in India. The application deadline is 30 September 2019. Link

Council for the Advancement of Science Writing — New Horizons Travel Fellowships 2019

The Council for the Advancement of Science Writing offers travel fellowships to cover the cost of attending the annual New Horizons in Science briefing for journalists. The annual conference brings together top-rank scientists and leading science reporters for an in-depth look at seminal developments in science. Fellows will also have the opportunity to participate in the day-long professional workshops sponsored by the National Association of Science Writers. The maximum reimbursement provided is $1,200. U.S. Department of State — Fulbright-National Geographic Storytelling Fellowship 2020-2021

The Fulbright-National Geographic Storytelling Fellowship provides opportunities for an academic year of international travel and storytelling in up to three countries on a globally significant theme. For the 2020-21 competition, the Fellowship will accept proposals to undertake an in-depth examination of a globally relevant issue (possibly within the thematic areas of the Terra Viva Grant Directory). In addition to financial support, participants will receive training in professional storytelling. Eligibility for the fellowships is limited to U.S. citizens. Bayer Foundations — International Fellowship Program

The Bayer International Fellowship Program consists of five scholarship programs that offer financial support to foreign students and young professionals pursuing a project in Germany. (Note: German students and young professionals can apply to realize a study or research project abroad.) Students in the field of veterinary medicine can apply for the Carl Duisberg Scholarship. Students in the fields of agro sciences, green biotechnology, environmental sciences and sustainability can apply for the Jeff Schell Scholarship. Students in life sciences, including biology, and bio-engineering, among others, can apply for the Otto Bayer Scholarship. The next round of applications must be submitted until 14 July 2019. German Academic Exchange Service — Postdoctoral Researchers International Mobility Experience 2019

DAAD collaborates with the EC’s Marie Curie Program to offer the Postdoctoral Researchers International Mobility Experience (PRIME) for outstanding postdoctoral researchers across all disciplines and nationalities. Funding is provided for 18 months, of which 12 months are spent abroad and 6 months at a German university. The funding consists of salaries instead of scholarships.
