Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum — Water Advanced Research and Innovation Fellowships

The Water Advanced Research and Innovation Fellowships fund Indian participants to gain exposure and access to research facilities in water resources at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the Daugherty Water for Food Institute. Fellowships of three to twelve months are for Indian scientists holding a PhD in water science and engineering. Internships of three to six months are for individuals currently engaged in their PhD studies in water sciences in India. The application deadline is 30 September 2019. Link

Council for the Advancement of Science Writing — New Horizons Travel Fellowships 2019

The Council for the Advancement of Science Writing offers travel fellowships to cover the cost of attending the annual New Horizons in Science briefing for journalists. The annual conference brings together top-rank scientists and leading science reporters for an in-depth look at seminal developments in science. Fellows will also have the opportunity to participate in the day-long professional workshops sponsored by the National Association of Science Writers. The maximum reimbursement provided is $1,200. U.S. Department of State — Fulbright-National Geographic Storytelling Fellowship 2020-2021

The Fulbright-National Geographic Storytelling Fellowship provides opportunities for an academic year of international travel and storytelling in up to three countries on a globally significant theme. For the 2020-21 competition, the Fellowship will accept proposals to undertake an in-depth examination of a globally relevant issue (possibly within the thematic areas of the Terra Viva Grant Directory). In addition to financial support, participants will receive training in professional storytelling. Eligibility for the fellowships is limited to U.S. citizens. Applications will be accepted for any country where there is an active Fulbright U.S. Student Program, with the exception of China. Deadline for applications is 08 October 2019. Link to the program

TravelGrants — Travel4Good

TravelGrants makes small travel grants to activists, changemakers, charities, students, social media influencers, and artists. Applicants may submit proposals, essays, films or audio, clips, poems, photos, or presentations to show how their travel will change them and the world around them. The winner will receive a US$500 travel grant. Participation is open to any individual or organization in any country. The deadline for submission is 7 August 2019. More

German Academic Exchange Service — Postdoctoral Researchers International Mobility Experience 2019

DAAD collaborates with the EC’s Marie Curie Program to offer the Postdoctoral Researchers International Mobility Experience (PRIME) for outstanding postdoctoral researchers across all disciplines and nationalities. Funding is provided for 18 months, of which 12 months are spent abroad and 6 months at a German university. The funding consists of salaries instead of scholarships. European Union — Central European Initiative, Call for Proposals 2019

The CEI makes grants to support its action plan. Cooperation projects are mainly for seminars, workshops, training courses, and other kinds of meetings. Priority themes include climate, environment, sustainable energy, and others. Projects can be submitted by all public and private bodies in CEI’s member states, as well as by international and regional organizations. Preference is for proposals submitted from CEI’s non-EU member states (Albania, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, and Ukraine). Grants are up to €15 thousand. Mobilise Action — ITC Biodiversity Conference Grant

Mobilise Action accepts applications for the ITC Conference Grants from early-career investigators and PhD students from cost Inclusiveness Target Countries (Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, North Macedonia, Serbia and Turkey). The grants aim to support researchers to participate to the Biodiversity_Next International Conference that takes place in October in The Netherlands. Eligible candidates must be already enrolled at the Conference. The grant will cover expenses of the conference up to €1.4 thousand. The deadline for applications is 31 May 2019. About the grants

U.S. Department of State — YSEALI Academic Fellowship

The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a program of the U.S. government to support bright young leaders in the ASEAN countries. The YSEALI Academic Fellowship offer support to participate in a five-week institute on the campus of a U.S. university or college in one of the following topics: civil engagement; environmental issues; or social entrepreneurship and economic development. The fellowships include leadership development, an educational study tour, local community service activities, and opportunities to engage with peers in the USA. Applications are invited from current full-time undergraduate students citizen of Vietnam aged between 18 and 25 years. Application deadline is 02 June 2019. Link

Australian Center for International Agricultural Research — John Dillon Fellowships

ACIAR awards the John Dillon Fellowships to agricultural scientists or economists from our partner countries and Australia. The fellowships aim to support the professional development of outstanding mid-career agricultural scientists, economists and researchers. Key features of the program are: a 4-6 week residential stay in Australia, a 1-week hosting period with an Australian organisation, formal training, program of visits to engage with various Australian institutions, and exposure to relevant researchers, industry experts and professionals. Society of Chemical Industry — Travel Bursaries

The Society of Chemical Industry awards travel bursaries to young PhD students. There are various schemes available, some related to agriculture and life sciences.  Applicants will have preference if they wish to travel outside their country of residence, especially if they wish to work in a laboratory abroad. Next deadline cycle for the AJ Banks Award (Food science), and the Messel Award (Chemical science including all life sciences) is 31 October 2019. Link
