ETH Zurich — Exchange of Young Researchers

ETH Zurich, in Switzerland, supports the exchange of young researchers between Switzerland and China. Swiss senior researchers from universities or research institutes and from all scientific disciplines can apply to host young Chinese scholars or apply to send one of their PhD students to China to conduct research. International Zoo Educators Association — Sponsored Delegate Program 2018

The International Zoo Educators Association funds conservation educators from developing countries to attend its biennial conference. A limited number of professional development grants to attend the IZE conference are available every other year. International Institute of Education — Indigenous Biocultural Exchange Fund

The Indigenous Biocultural Exchange Fund provides up to US$5 thousand to indigenous individuals to attend global biocultural exchanges or meetings which impact the applicant’s home territory or region. Applicants must be indigenous or members of a local indigenous community. Additional preference will be given to women and youth. The fund is especially for, but not limited to, indigenous individuals in the following regions: African Rift Valley, Central Asia & Turkey, Southwest U.S. & Northern Mexico, Northern Australia, and Melanesia. European Space Agency — Living Planet Fellowship 2018

The European Space Agency (ESA) invites young researchers to submit research proposals for the Living Planet Fellowship 2018. Eligible research areas are (1) Advancing Novel Methods and Techniques; and (2) Advancing Earth System Science. ESA will support up to 10 Post-Doctoral researchers to carry out a research project at a Host Institution in an eligible ESA Member State. New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade — NZ Partnerships for International Development Fund 2017/2018

The New Zealand Partnerships for International Development Fund is a contestable fund open to New Zealand organizations. It aims to encourage partnerships between New Zealand organizations and in-country partners in the developing world, with emphasis on the Pacific region and Southeast Asia. Priority areas for support include agriculture, fisheries, tourism, energy, and water and sanitation — among others. The Fund encourages multi-activity projects for up to five years. The next application deadline (Round 12) is 02 March 2018 for drafts (partners who would like to receive feedback on their application, prior to submitting it to the Round) and 30 March 2018 for full applications. AuthorAID — Small Grants for Researchers in Developing Countries: Travel Grants

AuthorAID announces its second round of small travel grants to support researchers in developing countries with travel and workshops. AuthorAID plans to award five travel grants of US$1,500 each for early-career researchers to present their research at an academic conference. Royal Society of Biology — Travel Grants for Members

The Royal Society of Biology is the leading professional body for the biological sciences in the UK, representing approximately 14,000 biologists and over 90 organisations. Each year, the Society offers twenty grants of £500 to members for overseas travel in connection with biological study, teaching, or research. INOMICS — Conference Grant Contest 2017

INOMICS makes grants to students and researchers to attend conferences. The grant is $500 to young researchers to travel to an academic conference of their choice. Eligible conferences for the Contest is any event posted on https://inomics.com/top/events (most of which are business related but useful for some fields and categories of the Terra Viva Grants Directory, e.g. economic development). India Department of Science & Technology  — Indo-Hungarian Joint Research

The Indian Department of Science & Technology (DST) calls for proposals for joint research projects between India and Hungary. Grants are to promote collaborative projects between at least one Indian and one Hungarian scientist. Themes are energy and water; biotechnology; and others.  Proposals must be submitted in English. Governments of Austria and India — Scientific Exchange Visits

Austria’s Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy (BMWFW) and India’s Department of Science and Technology (DST) invite applications for fully-funded exchange visits to carry out joint research. The call is open to all scientific disciplines and thematic areas — including environmental sciences, agricultural sciences, and veterinary medicine. Projects will be supported for a maximum of two years. It is up to the applicants to find their own research partners.
