U.S. Department of State — Global Undergraduate Exchange Program

The Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) provides scholarships to outstanding undergraduate students from the developing world for one semester of non-degree full-time study combined with community service, professional development, and cultural enrichment in the USA. Students from all academic disciplines are welcome to apply. The eligible countries are listed in the call. Candidates need to apply through the U.S. embassies in their home countries. Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens — Botany in Action Fellowships 2022

The Botany in Action (BIA) Fellowship program at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens fosters the development of the next generation of plant-based scientists. Subject areas include ethnobotany, plant diversity and conservation, landscape and brownfield restoration, and others. The program is open to Ph.D. students of any nationality who are conducting plant-based scientific research at U.S. graduate institutions. Grants are US$5 thousand for research-related expenses at sites in the U.S. or internationally, plus an all-expenses paid trip to Phipps to make a public presentation. University of Bergen — PhD Courses on Sustainable Development

The Bergen Summer Research School offers parallel short courses for PhD students and young researchers on themes of urgent societal problems focusing on the transition to sustainability. The courses will focus on key global challenges, including socio-economic inequality, psychological and social science perspectives on climate change, and the sustainable development of life below water. Stipends to participate in the course are available for qualified individuals who are currently enrolled for studies and carrying out research in a list of eligible developing countries. Research Council of Norway — Funding for Research Stays in Norway

The Research Council of Norway funds researchers from other countries to carry out a research stay at a Norwegian research organization. Research stays can last up to 12 months. The support under this call applies across multiple activities, including climate change, sustainable energy, or ocean research. World Academy of Sciences — TWAS-UNESCO Associateship Scheme for Research Collaboration

In collaboration with UNESCO, TWAS enables researchers from developing countries to visit research centers. Selected associates are appointed for three years during which they can visit one of 300 participating centers twice for research collaboration. TWAS provides travel support and a contribution towards subsistence costs up to US$300. Living expenses are covered by the host centers. The deadline for submission is 15 December 2021. CRDF Global — Biosciences Fellowships 2022-2023

The Biosciences Fellowship Program provides early to mid-career biological scientists from Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, and Lebanon with the opportunity to spend 6 months working alongside counterpart professionals at foreign universities. Fellowship focus areas include animal, and zoonotic infectious diseases; among others. Swiss National Science Foundation — Postdoc Mobility

Postdoc researchers who wish to pursue an academic career in Switzerland are invited to apply to the Postdoc.Mobility fellowships. The Marie Sklowdowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) support research training and career development. The MSCA COFUND scheme aims at stimulating regional, national or international programs to foster excellence in researchers’ training, mobility, and career development. Each proposal under the COFUND scheme shall have a sole participant that will be responsible for matching funds to execute the proposal.
