The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) seeks to empower communities and civil society in Madagascar to implement actions to improve the resilience of species, ecosystems and human populations to climate changes. CEPF intends to make small grants of up to US$50 thousand in support of strengthening the capacity of local communities and civil society at regional and local levels to enhance adaptive capacity and reduce exposure to climate change risks, and supporting research and ensure the dissemination of results for the promotion and improvement of knowledge on ecosystem-based adaptation actions. Leading House Africa calls for applications from PhD students and postdoctoral researchers affiliated with a Swiss Institution of Higher Education to further develop and foster new collaborations between Swiss researchers and partners in Africa. Partnership for Forests promotes partnerships among governments, civil society, and private enterprises to address deforestation and improve livelihoods by investing in forests and sustainable land use in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. The program provides a combination of grants and technical assistance to help selected partnerships move towards commercial scale-up. Grants normally range from £10 thousand to £1 million. Applicants should provide matched funding of at least 25%. InfoNile has organized a science communication competition that aims to engage university students in Africa to understand the critical role of conserving swamps and their biodiversity. The competition aims to foster environmental awareness and empower young scientists and conservationists in Africa to take action for swamps. Eligibility extends to teams of 2-3 university students, one from communication or journalism and a science student. Amphibian Ark — Conservation Grants 2024
Amphibian Ark offers a wide variety of conservation grants for amphibian research and conservation. Start-up grants are one-time grants of US$5 thousand to help newly-launched projects get started at the very beginning. Start-up grant extensions of US$3 thousand provide continued support for AArk seed or start-up grant projects. Workshop grants of up to US$750 are available to attend conservation-related workshops. Mentorship grants of up to US$1500 are available to organizations which have previously received an AArk seed or start-up grant. Emergency grants offer limited funding to past recipients of AArk grants for emergency situations such as emergency rescue of wild populations facing imminent threat of extinction. Projects should work with species in their range countries, involve range-country biologists, conform to biosecurity standards, and observe other guidelines explained on the website. United Nations Development Programme — Conscious Food Systems Alliance
The Conscious Food Systems Alliance (CoFSA) supports people from across food and agriculture systems to cultivate the inner capacities that activate systemic change and regeneration. The Alliance seeks projects to test and demonstrate how consciousness approaches can strengthen inner capacities that in turn help accelerate the transformation of food systems, and to generate a set of learnings and learning resources. UK Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council — Standard Research Grant
BBSRC supports a range of activities from research projects to technology development, new infrastructure and equipment, use of equipment and facilities, networks, and summer schools. Case Studies include the themes of agriculture, sustainable energy and climate change. Applicants from industry and academia can request a maximum of £2 million per project.
