IUCN Save Our Species (SOS) aims to support on-the-ground conservation actions with the goal of improving the status of threatened sturgeon species and their habitats in the Black Sea basin. The goal is to enable and support conservation projects that can apply sustainable conservation measures to protect threatened sturgeon species, their habitats and to improve the livelihoods of the people who depend on them. Grants range from CHF50 thousand to CHF150 thousand. SOS requires matching resources in relation to grant size. Applications are open to non-profit local or national civil society organizations, international organizations and university/research institutions. The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) accepts nominations for the 2022 Al-Sumait Prize in Food Security.
