The “Solve” program at MIT announces six global challenges in 2025, inviting anyone in the world to propose solutions to them. The 2025 challenges include one on climate adaptation. MIT Resilient Ecosystems Challenge seeks technology-based solutions that help communities restore, sustain, and benefit from resilient ecosystems. The winner receives a US$10 thousand grant. The GET.invest Finance Catalyst supports small- and medium-scale renewable energy projects and businesses in Sub-Saharan Africa, the Caribbean or the Pacific region. The program provides advisory support on project and business plan development, project and business structuring and accessing finance, at no cost. West African Research Association — Scholar Mobility Fellowship
The WARA Scholar Mobility Fellowship supports young West African scholars for research visits to other institutions on the continent. The fellowship program will award one predoctoral grant of US$4,000 for travel to West Africa to conduct research. The program is open to West African nationals, with preference given to those affiliated with West African colleges, universities, and research institutions. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Guyana and Suriname
The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives supports small-scale, high-impact projects in Guyana and Suriname. The priorities under this call include one on the environment and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, as well as on water management; and projects that create income-earning opportunities for women (which may also include rural agricultural development). The Royal Society’s International Exchanges Scheme makes grants to scientists based in the UK who seek new international collaborations. The scheme covers all areas of life and physical sciences, except clinical medicine. Applicants may request up to £12 thousand for travel to/from all countries outside the UK. Ekhaga Foundation — Ecological Agriculture and Biological Medicine
The Ekhaga Foundation makes research grants in ecological agriculture and biological medicine. The main focus should be on scientific research and primarily applied research. Ekhagastiftelsen wishes primarily to support strategic and innovative projects of a pilot nature, as well as research that is highly newsworthy and that not just confirms previous findings. It is possible to apply for scholarships, but this is usually only granted for research-related projects. There is no maximum amount. Please note that the total amount awarded is usually in the range SEK 10-15 million. Universities, research institutes, etc., from all over the world are invited to apply. The Conservation, Food and Health Foundation supports special projects and programs in the areas of conservation, food, and health in low- and lower-middle-income countries in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. The foundation supports projects that demonstrate local leadership; develop the capacity of local organizations; and address a particular problem or question in the field.
