Eramet — Innovations in Water Management for Mining and Metals Industry

The Eramet Water Resource Innovation Challenge 2023 seeks innovations in water management for mining and metals industries. The innovation challenge aims to minimize the industry’s environmental impact while also ensuring access to valuable resources. Start-ups and SMEs from around the world are invited to propose innovative technologies or products that address key water challenges of the mining and metals industry to protect water resources. Leibniz-Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries — Fellowship Program in Freshwater Science

The Leibniz-Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB) in Germany invites scientists from all countries and at different career stages to apply for a research visit. The program offers fellowships for PhD students, postdocs, and senior scientists for up to 24 months. The position is intended as an opportunity to join IGB to develop and implement original research ideas in ecology, evolutionary biology, microbiology, Ecohydrology, chemistry, behavioral ecology, genomics, inland fisheries and aquaculture. IGB is determined to increase the proportion of women in science, and particularly encourages female scientists to apply. The next application deadline is 01 October 2023. Jewish Helping Hands — Grant Program

Jewish Helping Hands (JHH) supports vulnerable populations through a variety of programs focused on economic development and social empowerment through financial and hands-on support. JHH considers making grants to individuals or organizations that provide the basic necessities for a decent life, including water, food and womens’ empowerment. Projects are ordinarily eligible for awards up to $5 thousand. JHH seeks to partner with grassroots organizations in East Africa, Central America, North America, any impoverished Jewish Communities, and Israel. European Union — Clean Cooking Solutions in Tanzania

The CookFund program seeks to reduce climate change impact in Tanzania by increasing the share of the population with access to sustainable cooking solutions. The CookFund targets suppliers of clean cooking technologies in urban areas. The program provides technical and financial support to eligible enterprises and companies. Fondation SUEZ — Access to Water and Sanitation

The Fondation SUEZ supports access to essential services such as water, sanitation and waste for underprivileged populations in developing countries. One reward goes to an unregistered, royalty-free innovation developed by a non-profit organization. The other recognizes and encourages an initiative led by a social entrepreneur. Japan Water Fund — Kyoto World Water Grand Prize 2024

The Japan Water Fund and the World Water Council announce the call for application for the Kyoto World Water Grand Prize 2022. The winner of the prize will receive ¥2 million (approximately US$18 thousand). Eligibility to compete for the prize extends to non-profit organizations with an established record of striving to solve critical water issues at the grass-roots level in developing countries. RELX Group — Environmental Challenge in Water and Sanitation 2023

The RELX Group sponsors the RELX Group Environmental Challenge to recognize projects worldwide that best demonstrate sustainable access to safe water and/or access to improved sanitation. The challenge is open to individuals and organizations (profit and non-profit). Projects must advance sustainable access to safe water where it is presently at risk, and/or access to improved sanitation. The first prize is US$50 thousand; second prize is US$25 thousand. United Nations Environment Programme — Pilot Cities for Urban Ecosystem Restoration

The United Nations Environment Program seeks cities interested in starting or scaling up ecosystem restoration efforts. The program will support eight pilot cities with grants of US$ 50 thousand to US$100 thousand to develop innovative policy approaches, and initiate implementation of urban ecosystem restoration and nature-based solutions implementation. ProposalsforNGOs, an initiative by FundsforNGOs, invites applications for the “Small Grant Competition” aimed at NGOs around the world. The contest aims to help grassroots NGOs to develop a project idea to reality by submitting a one-page concept note. The winner will be awarded US$1000. European Commission — Civil Society Development in Pacific Island Countries

The European Commission (EC) aims to promote capacity development of local civil society in the Pacific Island Countries. The action aims to contribute to contribute to the achievement of the following SDGs: 1 (No Poverty), 5 (Gender Equality),6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), 8 (Decent work and economic growth), 10 (Reduced inequalities), 13 (Climate Action) and 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions). Applicants may request between €150 thousand to €600 thousand in project funding. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations. The deadline for submission of concept notes is 13 June 2023.
