Fund for Innovation in Development — Grant Program

The Fund for Innovation in Development (FID) supports innovation that contributes to reducing global poverty and inequality. FID encourages applications for solutions in education, health, climate change, and gender equality in all low- and middle-income countries. Nearly any type of applicant is eligible to apply, including researchers, governments, NGOs, and for-profit companies. FID makes five types of grants: Prepare Grants (up to €50 thousand) can be used to support the development of projects and proposals; Pilot Grants (up to €200 thousand) support the piloting of innovations that are early in development and need real-world testing; Scale Grants (up to €1,5 million) support the further testing and continued growth of innovations; Transition to Scale Grants (up to €4 million) support the transition of rigorously tested and validated solutions to widespread scaling; and Transforming Public Policy Grants (up to €150 thousand) support specific evidence-based innovations with demonstrated cost-effectiveness and scalability into public policies. Melania Development Foundation — Support to Grassroots Womens’ Groups

Melania focuses on self-help projects that contribute to the improvement of the social, economic, and cultural position of women in Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America. Projects have to focus on income-generating activities, which may include agriculture (e.g., chicken farming, beekeeping, aquaculture, etc.) and several others. Melania invites and reviews project applications. Melania selects and proposes some of these projects to Dutch women’s groups for requested financial support. There is no calendar deadline. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Angola

The Government of Canada invites proposals for small-scale, high-impact projects in Angola through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI). The program provides funding to local non-governmental organizations and community groups for initiatives focused on inclusive governance, gender equality, and environmental action. While typical grants range from CAN$25 thousand to CAN$50 thousand, some projects may receive larger amounts depending on the scope. Applications must be submitted by 14 May 2026. Link

La Caixa Foundation — International Cooperation Projects

The La Caixa Foundation invites applications for projects that contribute to the eradication of poverty and the fight against inequality in developing countries. The program supports initiatives focused on basic health, education and training, and socio-economic development, with a particular emphasis on vulnerable populations. Eligible applicants are Spanish non-profit organizations that work in partnership with local entities in countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Grants provide up to €50 thousand per project, covering up to 75% of the total project cost for initiatives with a duration of up to two years. The deadline for applications is 20 May 2026. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Albania

The Government of Canada invites proposals for small-scale, high-impact projects in Albania through the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI). This program provides funding to local non-governmental organizations, community groups, and other non-profits for initiatives focused on inclusive governance, gender equality, and environmental action. African Center for Aquatic Research and Education — African Women in Freshwater Science

The African Center for Aquatic Research and Education (ACARE) invites applications for its African Women in Science (AWIS) program to support women pursuing careers in freshwater sciences. The program provides mentorship, networking opportunities, and professional development to female scientists who are citizens of African countries bordering the African Great Lakes (Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia). RELX Group — Environmental Challenge 2026

The RELX Group sponsors the RELX Group Environmental Challenge to recognize projects worldwide that best demonstrate sustainable access to safe water and/or access to improved sanitation. The challenge is open to individuals and organizations (profit and non-profit). Projects must advance sustainable access to safe water where it is presently at risk, and/or access to improved sanitation. Two prizes are available, with one winner in the clean water and sanitation category and one winner in the ocean category each receiving a grant of US$75 thousand. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) supports small-scale, high-impact projects in Serbia, Montenegro, and North Macedonia. Eligible applicants include local non-governmental organizations, community groups, and non-profit entities, as well as local academic and municipal institutions. The program focuses on thematic priorities such as democratic governance, human rights, peace and security, and environment and climate action, with gender equality as a cross-cutting theme. Grants typically average CAN$24 thousand, while the maximum annual contribution for a single project is CAN$30 thousand. The deadline for the submission of preliminary applications is 08 May 2026.
