Graduate Institute Geneva — Geneva Challenge on Poverty Reduction

The Graduate Institute Geneva invites graduate students from all around the world to develop innovative interdisciplinary solutions that address the global challenges of poverty reduction. Five finalist teams, one team per continent, will be invited to an oral presentation in Geneva. The winning project will receive CHF10 thousand. IHE Delft Institute for Water Education — MSc in Water and Sustainable Development

The Dutch Orange Knowledge Program offers access to education and training to professionals and organizations for IHE Delft’s new Master of Science in Water and Sustainable Development. Mid-career can apply for OKP individual scholarships. Applicants who wish to apply for the OKP scholarship are recommended to apply to IHE Delft by 15 March 2022. Link

International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development — Small Grants Program

The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) supports regional transboundary programs to address critical challenges in climate change, food security, water and related disasters, land use, and air quality. The small grants program is to help grow the network of government agencies, universities, and institutions in the HKH region that utilize geospatial tools and information to improve decision-making. SERVIR-HKH expects to award 4-5 grants. Individual grants will not exceed US$30 thousand. Applications will be accepted from institutions based in Bangladesh, Nepal, and Pakistan. SADC Secretariat — Water Fund

The SADC Regional Fund for Water Infrastructure and Basic Sanitation (SADC Water Fund) is the key financing facility for the development and integration of the water sector in the Southern African region. The Fund finances infrastructure projects to improve the supply for drinking water and water for agricultural use for the poor. The Fund will finance major service contracts only. Therefore, only projects requiring a grant of a minimum of €2 million and a maximum of €4 million will be considered for support. Eligibility extends to governments of SADC Member States and their agencies (water utilities, local government, municipalities, etc.) and regional institutions promoted by governments. Swiss Innovation Agency — Research and Development

Participants from Switzerland and Brazil are invited to submit joint project proposals for research and development of innovative products and applications with a strong market potential in Switzerland and Brazil. The innovation project should be science-based, targeting to achieve advances in new solutions. The call is open for all scientific disciplines; however, projects in biotech, agriculture, clean energy & water, and sustainable cities and communities are particularly appreciated. The project consortia must include at least one business entity and one research institute from each country. The submission deadline for pre-proposals is 22 June 2022. Switzerland-Brazil Call 2022

European Commission — Consolidator Grants

The European Commission provides Consolidator Grants to experienced researchers with a scientific track record. ERC Grants support projects carried out by an individual researcher who can employ researchers of any nationality as team members. Applications can be made in any field of research. Proposed research projects under this program must be conducted in a public or private research organization located in one of the EU Member States or Associated Countries. Consolidator Grants may be awarded up to €2 million for a period of 5 years. The deadline for applications is 17 March 2022. Link

Land Accelerator — Restoration of Degraded Forests and Farmland (South Asia)

The Land Accelerator trains and supports entrepreneurs that restore degraded forests and farmland. The program offers an all-virtual business creation and growth accelerator in South Asia. The accelerator is designed for companies that are in the testing phase of taking their product to market. Any business model that is recognized as restoring land is eligible, including, but not limited to smart agriculture, water conservation, agroforestry, tree planting, and beekeeping, forest conservation. Applications are currently open for entrepreneurs from South Asia. 15 participants will receive an innovation grant of €3 thousand. The deadline is 31 March 2022. Land Accelerator South Asia

United Nations — World Oceans Day Photo Competition 2022

The World Oceans Day aims to raise global awareness of the current challenges faced by the oceans and showcase possible solutions. The United Nations General Assembly seeks submissions to the World Oceans Day Photo Competition to share the beauty and importance of the oceans through photographs. The photo competition has seven thematic categories open for photographic submissions from all around the world. Winning images will be recognized during the United Nations’ event marking World Oceans Day 2022. Entries must be submitted by 15 April 2022. Find the contest rules

 

 

Cranfield Water Science Institute — Full Scholarships

The Cranfield Water Science Institute offers 15 scholarships across for MSc courses in Water & Wastewater Engineering, Water & Sanitation for Development and Advanced Water Management. The scholarships cover full tuition fees for a full-time master’s course. Citizens of any country can apply for a scholarship but must have an offer of admission for an eligible full-time master’s course before applying. Applications close on 25 April 2022. Information

AQUACOSM — Access to Mesocosms Facilities

AQUACOSM, the EU network of mesocosm facilities for research on marine and freshwater ecosystems open for global collaboration, invites applications to the Transnational Access (TA) program. Successful TA applicants will have access to AQUACOSM partner facilities including logistical, technological and scientific support, specific training as well as travel and accommodation free of charge.
