United Nations Institute for Training and Research — Social Entrepreneurship Training Program for Women
The UNITAR Social Entrepreneurship Training Program for Women aims to empower women with the knowledge and skills of entrepreneurship to address socio-economic challenges in Africa. The training will be delivered in English and consists of mentoring, pitching, planning, and outcome evaluation. This program is open for women, including members of small and medium enterprises, government agencies and academic institutions, from Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, and Sudan. IHE Delft Institute for Water Education — Open Courseware Water Productivity
IHE Delft and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) announce a new open online course on “Water Productivity and Water Accounting using WaPOR.” The WaPOR program assists countries in monitoring water productivity, identifying water productivity gaps, proposing solutions to reduce these gaps, and contributing to a sustainable increase in agricultural production. The online course targets practitioners and academicians who are working in water resources management and related fields and have an interest in using open access remote sensing data and other open-access data to assess the water resources situation in their region. Television for the Environment (tve) seeks entries for the Global Sustainability Awards (GSFA). The tve Global Sustainability Film Awards recognizes outstanding films that inspire audiences with real-world solutions for a more sustainable future. Films need to address a relevant sustainable development goal and cogently explain its importance or show a relevant solution. To be eligible for GSFA 2020 all entered films must be made between the period July 2018 and July 2020. The competition is open to any company, organization or individual in any country. African Water Resources Mobility Network — Master of Science/ Master of Technology
The African Water Resources Mobility Network (AWaRMN) invites applications for the Scholarship Mobility Program in Water Resources Management. Candidates can study full-time study in any of the Master of Science/ Master of Technology (MSc/MTech) academic mobility scholarship programs of AWaRMN in any of the Higher Education Institutions within the partnership (namely RU, UNIKIN, FUTMINNA, MU, and ENSH). AWaRMN funding will cover tuition fees, research cost, subsistence allowance, flight ticket and visa costs, and health insurance. The Newton Mosharafa PhD Program supports Egyptian researchers to undertake PhD studies at a UK higher education institution. The program covers all fees and living/travel expenses. First Solar manufactures solar modules with an advanced semiconductor technology. The First Solar Corporate Charitable Fund seeks to improve the quality of life in communities around the world. Priority is given to projects focusing on “green” education initiatives, access to clean energy and water in underserved areas, and furthering the development of innovative and sustainable technologies. Grant requests must be for projects or services that cost or exceed US$10 thousand. Requests under US$10 thousand should be directed to the First Solar local office nearest the grant seeker. U.S. Mission to Tajikistan — Environmental Awareness in Tajikistan
The U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe announces funding for its Environmental Awareness and Action Campaign. The Embassy seeks grant proposals from Tajik non-governmental organizations and independent media organizations that focus on raising public awareness about air pollution, water pollution, or waste management in Tajikistan. French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs — Franco-Palestinian Cooperation Partnership Projects
The French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) launches the new three-year call for projects (2019-2021) in support of decentralized cooperation partnership projects between French and Palestinian local authorities. The initiative aims at consolidating the partnerships in progress. All projects and actions located in the Palestinian Territories are eligible. Thematic areas include rural development, agriculture and food security; Water, sanitation and waste management; and renewable energy, among others. The MEAE provides at least €170 thousand per year. The call for projects is aimed at French and Palestinian local authorities (governorate, municipality, village council, local council, refugee camps).
