The Entrepreneurship Campus invites innovative ideas for the Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition to create a culture for entrepreneurship and implement one or more of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Participants are invited to submit their innovative ideas and projects with a societal impact. Entries will be posted on the competition website and are subject to online commenting and public voting. Winners receive a virtual badge and a certificate. Mongabay — WildTech Reporting Fellowship
Mongabay.org offers an internship program which primarily involves writing environmental news stories. The WildTech Fellow will work directly with Mongabay editors to develop their writing skills and publish a series of their stories on Mongabay’s independent news platform. The WildTech Reporting Fellow will receive a US$5 thousand honorarium for the duration of the program. Applications and writing samples have to be submitted by 29 April 2022. Save Our Species — Threatened Species Grants Sturgeons
IUCN Save Our Species (SOS) aims to support on-the-ground conservation actions with the goal of improving the status of threatened sturgeon species and their habitats in the Black Sea basin. The goal is to enable and support conservation projects that can apply sustainable conservation measures to protect threatened sturgeon species, their habitats and to improve the livelihoods of the people who depend on them. Grants range from CHF50 thousand to CHF150 thousand. SOS requires matching resources in relation to grant size. Applications are open to non-profit local or national civil society organizations, international organizations and university/research institutions. Amani Institute — Social Innovation Management
The Amani Institute offers a post-graduate certificate in social innovation management that emphasizes leadership, communication, entrepreneurship and management, and creativity and problem solving. Fellows will participate in a 3-month Immersion phase in Nairobi (Kenya). Fellows represent a diversity of fields contributing to sustainable development, including themes related to the environment. The Global Landscapes Forum seeks professional or amateur photographers who show their perspective on the beauty and richness of the African continent. Photographers from all over the world can apply for the GLF Africa 2022 Photo Competition. The competition offers small cash prizes US$400 (1st place), US$300 (2nd place) and US$200 (popular vote). Save Our Species — Threatened Species Grants Africa
The SOS African Wildlife Initiative invites proposals for Rapid Action Grants targeting terrestrial or freshwater threatened species in South Africa. Rapid Action Grants are designed to enable immediate responses to threats linked to the COVID-19 crisis and its consequences. Civil Society Organizations and public entities are eligible to apply. Maximum grant size is €100 thousand with no matching funds required. The maximum duration of the project should be 12 months. The deadline for applications is 31 March 2022. Critical Ecosystems Partnership Fund — Biodiversity Conservation Indonesia (Large Grants)
Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) makes large grants in support of biodiversity conservation in Indonesia with focus on the “Wallacea Biodiversity Hotspot.” Grants are in support of community-based sustainable small-scale fisheries, protection and conservation of endangered marine species, marine protected areas management, and activities that promote improved marine and coastal ecosystems. This call is for large grants of up to US$75 thousand. Eligibility for grants extends to NGOs, community groups, private enterprises, universities, and other civil society applicants. Earth Journalism Network — Pacific Islands Story Grants
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers 12 reporting grants to support the production of in-depth stories that will call attention to critical environmental issues in the Pacific region. ENJ expects at least six stories with focus on ocean issues, such as efforts and solutions to protect the ocean, ways to increase ocean’s resilience to climate change and regulate sustainable use of its resources. The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Tunisia. CFLI provides funding to projects that implement environment and climate action projects focusing on adaptation and mitigation, water management, and other thematic priorities. The average contribution is C$50 thousand per project (in exceptional cases, CFLI may grant up to C$100 thousand).
