InterAction — Photo Contest 2020
InterAction encourages photographers from all around the world to submit powerful photos that illustrate innovative, effective, and inspiring efforts in international relief and development. Examples of empowering women, innovative technology, food security and environmental development are within the contest’s theme, though entries are not limited to those areas. U.S. Mission to Slovenia — NGO Small Grants Program
The US Embassy offers small grants for projects that strengthen ties between the United States and Slovenia. Eligible topics for projects are broadly defined and include energy security, entrepreneurship and business development (including women), youth engagement, and environmental preservation and sustainability. Projects may request funding of US$10 thousand to US$70 thousand. Only registered Slovenian NGOs (institutions of higher education and nonprofits) may apply. North American Banding Council — Training for Bird Banders in Latin America
The North American Banding Council (NABC) and Association of Field Ornithologists (AFO) invite applications for small grants that support the development and certification of Latin American and Caribbean bird banders. Grants can be made to groups organizing NABC-based certification sessions and/or NABC-based training sessions that culminate in a certification opportunity. European Commission — Defense of Environmental Rights in Peru
The European Commission aims to strengthen environmental protection and mitigation of climate change by protecting environmental human rights and their defenders. This call focuses on (1) Promoting the transition to a low carbon economy in the Peruvian Amazon; and (2) Improving compliance with Environmental Human Rights (DHA) for better environmental governance. Projects with focus on low-carbon transition can apply for funding of between €500 thousand and €805 thousand. Projects with focus on environmental human rights can apply for funding up to €382 thousand. The KEEN Effect seeks programs that bring children outside for adventurous recreation, environmental stewardship, and nature-based education. The KEEN Effect Youth program provides funding to grassroots organizations developing youth (age 18 or under) activities in the outdoors worldwide. The program aims to train the participants in using and developing a new E-learning system in Biostatistics/Statistics. World Bank — Ideas for Action Competition 2020
Ideas for Action is a knowledge platform of the World Bank Group and the Zicklin Center for Business Ethics Research at the Wharton School. The annual Ideas for Action competition seeks innovative ideas and actionable projects to support the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Past winners include water solutions for better fish farm yields, women-led business models to improve sustainable access to energy, web based solutions for agriculture processes, and many more. Teams must consist of two to six members and may be formed across different schools, institutions, companies, or countries. Students and young professionals between the ages of 18-35 years from around the world are invited to participate. The winners of the competition present their ideas at the annual meeting of the World Bank Group, receive support from a project incubator and coaching.
