Most funded projects are in developing countries. The principal investigator can be of any nationality and must be associated with a recognized institution (accredited zoo, academic institution, conservation or non-profit organization). Stiftung Artenschutz — Amphibian Conservation Fund 2017
The Amphibian Conservation Fund supports conservation measures for endangered amphibian species and subspecies. The Foundation is interested in both in-situ conservation and conservation-related research, as well as measures to enhance public awareness. Funding recipients may be legally registered non-profit organisations or non-profit promoter contributors, as well as public institutions. Grants are up to €4 thousand for 18 months. Earth Journalism Network — InfoCongo
The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) is offering grants of up to US$1,500 for stories about pressing issues in the Congo Basin. The main focus is to show the impacts of environmental change on human lives and ecosystems. For this reason, EJN prioritizes stories about forests, water, climate change, wildlife, extractive industries, conflicts, and crimes. Proposals should focus on the production of one or more story, map, or data visualization element. The deadline for applications (English, French) is 20 May 2017. Link

Loro Parque Fundación supports conservation projects that mainly focus on parrots and marine species. The Foundation aims to improve the conservation status of endangered species as well as to promote conservation of terrestrial and marine biodiversity. Instrumentl — Grants for Wildlife, Marine Sciences, and Plant Sciences
Instrumentl is a team of former nonprofit development staff, scientists, and software engineers who share the aim of helping researchers to find and apply for grants. The focus is researchers within the ecological and environmental sciences. Instrumental has compiled a list of research grants that have application deadlines during the next few months, April-October 2017. The geographical scope and eligibility requirements vary with each grant program, including several that support research in the developing world. Triodos Foundation — Support for Grassroots Development
Triodos Bank focuses on financial support for sustainable “green” organizations in sectors such as agriculture and energy. The Triodos Foundation focuses on grassroots projects in organic agriculture, food, biodiversity, animal welfare, holistic education (including music and theatre as a means of learning). All grant recipients are non-profit organizations based in the Netherlands which may work in collaboration with partners in developing countries. Applications are presented to the Foundation by email. There is no calendar deadline. (Note: Only organizations based in the Netherlands can apply. Wildlife Conservation Network — Networking Opportunities
Each year, the WCN organizes conservation events (expos) in the USA, where wildlife conservationists discuss issues about endangered species around the world. Non-profit organizations are able to request free exhibition space at these events, offering them opportunities for networking and publicity. The remaining expo in 2017 will be held in San Francisco in October. Applications for exhibition space will be accepted through 15 July 2017. Link
Asian Waterbirds Conservation Fund — Protection of Migratory Waterbirds
Administered by WWF Hong Kong, the Asian Waterbirds Conservation Fund supports the conservation of migratory waterbirds and their wetland habitats in the East Asian – Australasian flyway. Grants are up to US$5 thousand per program or project. The application deadline is 31 October of each year. Link
Nando Peretti Foundation — Grants for Wildlife Conservation
The Nando Peretti Foundation supports a wide range of charitable causes that include nature conservation with a focus on birds and wildlife in Europe and developing countries. Eligibility extends to non-profit organizations and associations, which register with the Foundation. In year 2017, the periods for new registrations are 28 February through 17 March; 31 May through16 June; and 31 October through 17 November. Link
Disney Conservation Fund — Annual Conservation Grants 2018
The Disney Conservation Fund makes grants for wildlife studies, habitat protection, and community conservation and education in critical ecosystems around the world. DCF supports projects that build on previous work, and that have the potential to contribute to long-term conservation. Eligibility extends to U.S. nonprofit organizations. Applicants from other countries need to apply in collaboration with U.S. nonprofit partners. Grants are up to US$50 thousand for projects of up to two years.
