Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs — Women-led Clean Energy Enterprises

Aspen Network of Development Entrepreneurs (ANDE) launches the Improving Outcomes for Women-led Clean Energy Enterprises through Applied Research. The initiative will fund actionable research that aims to build the evidence base on these barriers and potential solutions. ANDE aims to support collaborative research projects led by practitioners and researchers based in Latin America, the Caribbean, and Sub-Saharan Africa. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Zambia

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Zambia. CFLI provides funding to projects that create income-earning opportunities for women (which may also include rural agricultural development). The average contribution is C$30 thousand to C$40 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to not-for-profit local, national, or community-based organizations. Noel Buxton Trust — Promoting Livelihoods in Africa

The Noel Buxton Trust makes grants of up to £10 thousand per year for up to three years for projects in Africa that develop sustainable livelihoods in community settings. Past recent projects on the theme of economic development include examples in livestock raising, aquaculture, and credit for women-led businesses. The Trust especially welcomes applications in support of initiatives that help build sustainable futures in the semi-arid areas of Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Uganda, Sudan, and South Sudan. The Trust invites applications from registered civil society organizations in Africa, and from UK-based charities — including from diaspora organizations based in the UK – for projects in the priority countries. U. S. Government — Fellows Program for Young Women in Agribusiness

The Advancing Young Women Professional Fellows Program offers capacity-building in agro-entrepreneurship and agri-food system innovation and advances their ability to support women’s economic empowerment. The U.S. program will include a four-week professional internship in Michigan. The program is open to young female agribusiness entrepreneurs working in Rwanda, South Africa, Zambia, or Zimbabwe. University of Durham — Hatfield Lioness Scholarship 2024

The University of Durham is open to applications for the Hatfield Lioness Scholarship 2024. The scholarship aims to enable female students from developing countries to undertake postgraduate studies at the University of Durham. Applicants must be offered a place in one of the University’s master’s programs and be a nationals of a developing country listed in the call. Sustainable Energy for All — Women in STEM Traineeship

Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) helps women and youth in energy transition by supporting their entry into and career progression within the sector. The SEforALL Traineeship provides a training opportunity complemented by on-the-job learning, including site visits, workshops, and supplementary training programs. Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in El Salvador

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in El Salvador. The priorities under this call include environment, climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, and water management. Project funding is C$30 thousand to C$40 thousand. World Academy of Sciences — Science Awards

Every two years, the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) awards nine prizes of US$10 thousand each to individual scientists who have been working and living in a developing country for at least 10 years. The disciplinary fields include agricultural sciences, biology, and six others. Nominations of women scientists are particularly encouraged. The deadline for nominations is 05 April 2024. UN Trust Fund — End Violence against Women

The UN Trust Fund seeks proposals for initiatives to end violence against women and girls. Projects supported include projects in climate change-affected areas, and projects focused on protecting and empowering women living in rural areas. Grants are between US$150 thousand to US$1 million for four years. The UN Trust Fund only accepts applications from civil society organizations and women’s rights organizations with a track record of working on the elimination of violence against women and girls. International Women’s Media Foundation — Reporting Grants for Women Journalists

The Howard G. Buffett Fund for Women Journalists seeks to promote the work and advance the role of women in the news media across the globe. The average grant size is US$10 thousand. The grant is intended to give women journalists the opportunity to pursue international stories of importance through gender-sensitive coverage of underreported topics. (Note: This may include various focus areas of the Terra Viva Grants Directory, i.e., women in agriculture, or stories about and by female conservationists.)
