The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and the Elsevier Foundation invite applications for project grants for Gender Equity and Climate Action. Grants are awarded to teams of 2-5 women for action-based projects which, although scientific in nature, will take them outside the lab to promote practical and tangible change under the umbrella of the “climate action” SDG in their local context. The project grant is designed to be flexible, with a total value of up to US$25 thousand. SouthSouthNorth (SSN) supports national and regional responses to climate change through policy and knowledge interventions, partnerships and deep collaboration. The Voices for Just Climate Action (VCA) program supports communications and capacity development projects in Kenya to ensure that underrepresented groups become advocates of innovative and inclusive climate solutions. The Alliance seeks to partner with Kenyan organizations specializing in climate change-related research and advocacy for local CSOs, focusing on women, youth, urban poor, rural communities, and marginalized groups. World Academy of Sciences — PhD Training Fellowships for Women Scientists
The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) invites women scientists in the field of agriculture (and other sciences) from science and technology lagging countries to apply for the OWSD PhD Training Fellowships. Each fellow will receive a monthly allowance to cover basic living expenses, a special allowance to attend international conferences, travel expenses, medical insurance, and the opportunity to attend regional science communications workshops for up to four years. Foundation Beyond Belief — Compassionate Impact Grant
Foundation Beyond Belief (FBB) makes grants to organizations that address critical community problems through evidence-based and culturally responsible social innovations. FBB will make one grant in the amount of US$30 thousand to one organization with the goal of increasing that organization’s ability to fulfill its mission. All applicants must be non-profit organizations with 501(c)3 status but grants are often used to support international community projects. Ban Ki-Moon Centre — Young Women Leadership on Climate Adaptation
The Young Women Leadership on Climate Adaptation program is a virtual educational and capacity-building event that fosters the leadership of African young women to induce and realize sustainable solutions that build resilience to the changing climate. The part-time training program will spread over 20-weeks between October 2021 to March 2022. The program aims to help participants to develop an advanced skills set for effective leadership and gain the knowledge to effectively communicate about climate adaptation.
