The WomenConnect Challenge is a global call for solutions to improve women’s participation in everyday life. USAID seeks comprehensive solutions that empower women and girls to access and use digital technology to drive positive health, education, and livelihood outcomes for themselves and their families. USAID will support the development of selected pilot approaches through technical assistance and monetary support. Approx. three grants ranging from US$900 thousand to US$1 million will be made for projects of up to 24 months in duration. Indo-US Science and Technology Forum — Fellowship for Women in STEMM
The IUSSTF invites Indian women to apply for the Indo-U.S. Fellowship for Women in STEMM (WISTEMM)” (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine) program at reputed scientific/technological institutions in the USA. Project research areas include agricultural sciences, among many others. The program includes health insurance, airfare, and a monthly stipend of US$2,500. Eligibility extends to Indian women currently pursuing Ph.D. degree in Basic Sciences, Engineering or Technology on a full-time basis at any recognized academic institution/R&D institute/university in India. The Government of Canada seeks Canadian Small and Medium Organizations (SMO) to apply to the Development Impact Window. The aim of this call is to reduce poverty and vulnerability in developing countries by promoting gender equality and empowering women and girls. Action areas under this call include one on ‘Environment and Climate Action’. The total amount of funding available under this call is up to CA$36 million over five years. U.S. Department of State — Equal Access to Jobs for Women in Agriculture
The EQUAL Project – Colombia provides funding to one technical assistance project in Colombia to economically empower vulnerable women and girls within the agricultural sector. The objective of the project is to reduce the risk of child labor, forced labor, and other violations of labor rights. Applicants may apply for up to US$5 million. Voice — Innovate and Learn Grants
Voice Philippines opens the first Call for Proposals for the Innovate and Learn Grants. The call aim is to address issues and challenges in agriculture and fishing communities that impact local farmers and fishers. Climate Chance — Climate Chance Summit Africa 2019
Climate Chance opens the call for proposals for the Climate Chance Summit Africa 2019. The call is open to local authorities, businesses, NGOs, trade unions, scientists, representatives from agricultural, youth, women and indigenous organisations, educators and citizens. Initiatives corresponding to many themes will be considered: Access to climate finance in Africa; Developing African cities in a sustainable way; Agriculture, food and reforestation in Africa; Renewable energy and energy efficiency in Africa; Adaptation and Water in Africa; Education and Training on Climate Change in Africa; and others. Unilever — Young Entrepreneurs Awards 2019
The Unilever Young Entrepreneurs Awards invite nominations of individuals ages 18 to 35 anywhere in the world who have initiatives, products, or services that address sustainability challenges in three categories. The categories are ‘improve people’s health and well-being’; ‘improve the health of the planet’; and ‘contribute to a fairer and more socially inclusive world’. Unilever will recognise up to eight winners in 2019, each of whom will be awarded a cash prize in addition to one-to-one mentoring support for a year. The overall winner will receive the “HRH The Prince of Wales Young Sustainability Entrepreneur Prize” of €50 thousand, the remaining winners will each receive a €8.5 thousand cash award. US Department of Labor — Equal Access to Quality Jobs for Women and Girls in Agriculture
The US Department of Labor announces the fund (EQUAL) to assist projects in Colombia that economically empower vulnerable women and girls in agriculture. The project must work within the agricultural sector in sugarcane, including unrefined brown sugar, and in cut flowers around specific geographical areas in Colombia.
