The Australia – APEC Women in Research Fellowship supports female researchers from developing APEC economies to work in collaboration with partners at Australian institutions. Past fellows include several in subjects such as water resources, climate change, marine microbiology, and others related to environment. United Nations University — Climate Fellowship Programme
The UNFCCC–UNU Early Career Climate Fellowship Programme offers young people from developing countries the opportunity to start their career at the interface between international climate policy development and research. Fellowships may last from six months to two years. Climate Fellows will be able to work in their home countries or internationally, deploying the valuable experience and insights they have gained during the programme. Applicants must be enrolled in their final term or have recently graduated from an advanced university degree programme in environment, climate change, communications, international relations or a related field. Qualified women candidates and candidates from least developed countries are especially encouraged to apply. Applications are accepted two times a year. The IUSSTF invites Indian Women Scientists, Engineers & Technologists to apply for the “Indo-U.S. Fellowship for Women in STEMM” to undertake international collaborative research in the USA. The Water for Women Fund aims to improve health, gender equality, and well-being of Asian and Pacific communities. Research organisations are invited to submit proposals for the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Research Awards. Applications must be submitted by research organisations or institutions (individual researchers are not eligible). The Funding Round is open to Australian and international non-profit institutions or organisations. Applicants may request between AU$100 thousand and AU$400 thousand per year for up to three years. Israeli Agency for International Development — Professional Course on Agribusiness
Israel’s Agency for International Development (MASHAV) offers professional short courses in Israel in subject areas that include agriculture, energy, health, education, and social development. MASHAV offers a limited number of scholarships to cover course fees, accommodation, medical insurance, and other expenses in Israel. The course “Agribusiness: A Tool for the Empowerment of Rural Women” addresses gender equality and the empowerment of women, as well as economic and social development strategies in rural areas. The course is for policymakers and professionals of the public and private sector, involved in the implementation of agricultural and rural development projects. Visionaria Network — Promoting Improved Cookstoves in East Africa
Visionaria Network welcomes applications for support from the Empowered Entrepreneur Training Fund (EETF). EETF partially subsidizes training to sell cookstoves and other energy products in East Africa. The EETF will train entrepreneurs and sales agents – particularly women – who sell or contribute to the value chain of improved cookstoves. The EETF will cover the costs up to US$5 thousand of certified trainers to lead the training, and 50% of the logistical costs of the training. The application deadline is 12 October 2017. The IDB Prize for Women’s Contribution to Development draws international attention to the vital role women play in developing their communities and the world. The theme for the 1439H – 2018 Prize is “Women’s Contribution to Promoting Peace and Stability.” (Note: This could possibly include thematic areas important in the Terra Viva Grants Directory.) The Prize consists of two cash awards: US$50 thousand for a woman or a group of women; and US$100 thousand for an organization.
