Canada Fund for Local Initiatives — Community Projects in Tajikistan

The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) invites proposals that meet the needs of local communities in Tajikistan. The priorities under this call include women’s economic rights, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, and investing in the poorest and most vulnerable (which may include agriculture or aquaculture projects), as well as environment, climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, and water management. The average contribution is C$15 thousand to C$30 thousand per project. Eligibility extends to not-for-profit local, national, or community-based organizations. Vital Voices — Fellowships for Women Entrepreneurs

Vital Voices offers GROW Fellowships to women entrepreneurs who own small and medium-sized businesses. The program includes customized business skills training, technical assistance, leadership development, and access to networks to grow their businesses. Thematic business areas may include agriculture, fisheries, and forestry with potential for growth. A limited number of need and merit-based scholarships will be available. Explore — Scholarships for PhD students

Explore will award partial scholarships of up to US$40 thousand to female doctoral students researching forest landscape governance in Southeast Asia. Eligible applicants must be women PhD students under 32 years old and be citizens of Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, or Timor-Leste. Applicants from any scientific discipline related to forest landscape governance are welcome. Applicants need to apply by 30 April 2024. Link

Indo-German Science & Technology Center — Women Involvement in Science and Engineering Research

The Indo-German Science & Technology Center (IGSTC) invites applications from women researchers in India/Germany to participate and collaborate in an ongoing Research and Development project. Women researchers and entrepreneurs holding a regular position in academic research institutions in India and Germany may apply. The grant will cover basic project assistance. The maximum grant for three years will be up to €48 thousand. Applications can be submitted throughout the year. Link to WISER

L’Oreal and UNESCO — Young Talents for Women in Science

The L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program supports the involvement of young women in scientific research. This program rewards young female researchers in life and environmental sciences, material sciences, mathematics, computer and information sciences, engineering sciences, and technology. Six young Arab women researchers will receive €10 thousand to support their doctoral or postdoctoral research studies. The doctoral candidates must work in a research laboratory, institute, or university in one of the following countries: Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, and the Syrian Arab Republic. UNESCO with L’Oreal Corporate Foundation — Fellowships for Women in Science: Turkey

The UN’s Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and L’Oreal co-sponsor doctoral and post-doctoral fellowships for women in science. The fellowships are organized by regions and countries. The fellowship program is open to scientists with a doctoral or a post-doctoral degree under 40 years of age. SAIS — Female Founder Award

The SAIS Female Founder Award is a company development and accelerator program for African tech start-ups in the agriculture, food, and livestock sectors. The award aims to strengthen the visibility of female-led start-ups and to promote female founders in Africa. The three winners will win in-kind support worth up to €30 thousand. Swedish Institute — Women’s Social Enterprise in the MENA Region

The Swedish Institute supports “She Entrepreneurs” to develop women’s leadership in social enterprise in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA region). She Entrepreneurs is intended for women who have already started to build a social business (possibly in subject areas relevant to the Terra Viva Grants Directory). The program consists of seminars, workshops, and interactive learning methods mixed with reflection sessions, team-building, and practical exercises. The Swedish Institute covers the costs of participating in the training program. Eligibility to apply extends to women ages 22 to 45 in Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, or Palestine. Applications can be submitted until 12 March 2024. She Entrepreneurs

Bayer Foundation — Women Empowerment Award

The Bayer Foundation Women Empowerment Award (WEA) recognizes women pioneering in health, nutrition, and related climate-smart solutions. Fifteen female entrepreneurs will get the chance to join the 6-month Accelerator Program and receive €25 thousand in support of their business. To qualify, applicants must center their solutions around health, nutrition, and their intersection with climate-related challenges. The award seeks to support women entrepreneurs driving impactful solutions in the Asia Pacific region, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East. The application deadline is 27 March 2024. U.S. Mission to Lesotho — Self-Help Program

The special self-help program of the U.S. Embassy to Lesotho supports small, sustainable community-based initiatives that have an immediate and strong impact on the local community. The Embassy expects to support different types of projects: from development projects such as agricultural cooperatives to women’s empowerment and the environment. Grants typically range from US$3 thousand to US$10 thousand per project. All applicants must include a significant community contribution. The Embassy welcomes applications from Lesotho-based nonprofit organizations, community-based organizations, and citizens. The closing date for applications is 08 April 2024. Self-Help Program
