Startup Grind — Startup Summit

Startup Grind invites participants for the Startup Summit (22 February 2021). Startup Summit is a virtual bootcamp for startups and provides free access to workshops on fundraising, networking, and investor matchmaking. Participants of the Summit gain free access to the 2021 Global Conference, a 4-day virtual event for startups from around the world. Pathways International Conference — Salmon Community Scholarship

Pathways: Human Dimensions of Wildlife is a conference and training program designed to address human-wildlife conflict issues. The Salmon Community Scholarship offers a limited number of scholarships to attend Pathways 2021 (19-22 September, USA). The scholarship covers the full cost of registration (US$300 for students, US$550 for non-students). Applicants must demonstrate ability to cover the remainder of their costs not covered by the scholarship (lodging, travel, incidentals, etc.). The scholarship is open to individuals worldwide closely impacted by the issues of salmon recovery and the financial hardships created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Collaborating Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production — The Academy of Change

The Academy of Change is an initiative of the Collaborating Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production (CSCP), Behavior Change and the International Civil Society Centre (ICSC), funded by the KR Foundation. The training program enables participants to learn more about sustainable behavior change while working and exchanging with peers from all over the world. A focus theme of this training program is climate change, environmental degradation and biodiversity. A group of 40 professionals working for NGOs across the world will be selected for in-person workshops and online activities, networking opportunities and coaching sessions. Climate Tracker — Workshop for Climate Change Journalists from Lebanon

Climate Tracker invites applications for a journalism workshop in the field of climate change and renewable energy. Submission is open to journalists from Lebanon. Four participants will receive grants to produce an article on the issue of climate change. Journalists have to submit examples of previous journalistic work to apply. There is no formal application deadline but the application window is expected to close soon. Hurry

Flame Tree Initiative — AgriBusiness Development Entrepreneurship Lab

Flame Tree Initiative (FTI) provides training, partnerships, and resources to promising African entrepreneurs seeking to create enterprises that address local development challenges. DELab is a development entrepreneur training program for aspiring social entrepreneurs and individuals who want to launch or scale their agricultural enterprise. DElab is a free virtual workshop for 20-25 participants. Applicants must propose an idea for a social enterprise focused on the agricultural sector. Thomson Reuters Foundation — Online Workshop: Reporting on Climate Change

Thomson Reuters Foundation and the Asian Development Bank will conduct a five-day online training program on ‘Reporting on Climate Change.’ Please note that this capacity building program is only open to journalists from Nepal. Participants will learn how to identify, research and deliver accurate stories on climate change, its impact on the environment and the lives of ordinary people. Experienced trainers will help participants learn to write impactful stories. There will be opportunities for participants to join a regional workshop on Climate Change in 2021. British Council — Funding for Climate Challenge Workshops

The British Council offers grant funding for interdisciplinary research workshops on climate change. Researcher Links Climate Challenge (RLCC) grants are designed to provide financial support to host virtual research workshops for participants from the UK and partner countries (Vietnam, Indonesia, Pakistan, South Africa, Egypt, and Brazil). Lead applicants are required to take an interdisciplinary approach by bringing together early career researchers from different fields. Workshops must take place before the end of August 2021. University of Waterloo — Online Workshop: Green Entrepreneurship

The University of Waterloo, in partnership with the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) and the EcoInnovation Network, invites students and aspiring entrepreneurs to register in a six-part series of free online workshops on green entrepreneurship. The workshop targets researchers, youth, aspiring environmental and social entrepreneurs from across North America (including Mexico). The workshop provides practical knowledge and resources for those interested in launching green startups. Sessions start on 27 October 2020 with simultaneous translation in three languages (English, French and Spanish). Link to more information

Global Landscapes Forum — Biodiversity Digital Conference 2020

The GLF Biodiversity Digital Conference is a two-day digital conference (28-29 October 2020) under the theme ‘One World – One Health’. The conference is a digital networking and learning event that gives participants the opportunity to discuss biodiversity loss, climate change and the emergence of pandemics like COVID-19. Participants are scientists, policymakers, indigenous groups, private sector representatives and organizations. Interested participants who can’t afford to pay the participation fee can apply for a free ticket. Solidarity passes to support participants from developing countries are also available for purchase. European Union — European Researchers’ Night

The European Researchers’ Night is a Europe-wide public and media event for the promotion of research careers. Established researchers have the opportunity to showcase the diversity of science and to stimulate interest in research careers among young people. Legal entities, such as research organizations, companies, public authorities, schools, science museums, foundations or the media from an EU Member State or Associated Country can apply to host an event for researchers’ night. Events and actions that target climate and environmental-related challenges are especially welcome. The European Commission offers funding that covers any expenses linked to the organization of the research outreach event. The deadline for submission of applications is 12 January 2021. Details here
