The World Academy of Sciences — Regional Workshop on Science Diplomacy

The Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM) and the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) seek candidates to participate in the regional training workshop on science diplomacy. The workshop is designed for applicants from science and technology lagging countries from South and Central Asia. Earth Journalism Network — Media Partnership Reporting Fellowships to COP28

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) announces the CCMP COP28 Reporting Fellowship Program for journalists interested in covering the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28). The Reporting Fellowship aims to bring up to 20 journalists from low- and middle-income countries to report in-person at COP28. The Fellowship will cover airfare, accommodation, meals, travel medical insurance and ground transportation costs related to Fellowship participation. Earth Journalism Network — Fellowships for Journalists

Earth Journalism Network (EJN) offers fellowships for journalists to cover the 7th Global Environmental Facility Assembly in Vancouver (Canada). The fellowship will strengthen journalists’ capacity to cover real-time changes to global environmental and climate financing instruments and their implications. EJN will cover economy-class airfare, accommodation, meals, travel insurance, and transportation costs to participate in the fellowship. Applicants must be professional journalists from or representing an established media house from a low- or middle-income country. Preference will be given to youth journalists (age 35 and under). Earth Journalism Network — Media Workshop on Natural Resource Governance

The Earth Journalism Network (EJN) hosts a media workshop with the aim to improve journalists’ knowledge and reporting skills to tell impactful and in-depth stories about natural resources governance in the Mekong region. The three-day workshop will be held in English in early July, at a venue in Thailand. Following the training, participants will be invited to pitch story ideas. EJN will award 16 grants of US$1,500 each to journalists to produce their proposed stories. International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development — Training in Earth Observation and Geospatial Information Technology

The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) invites women to apply for a theoretical and hands-on training on the use of earth observation (EO) and geospatial information technology (GIT). The four-day course provides young and early-career women with theoretical and practical knowledge to use EO data and GIT, with real-world examples from the HKH region. The training event is open to women from the Hindu Kush Himalayan (HKH) countries: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, and Pakistan. University of St. Gallen — Research Partnership Grants 2023

Research Partnership Grants aim to strengthen or initiate scientific exchange between researchers from Swiss and Latin American institutions in all disciplines. These grants are particularly useful to develop joint project proposals to be submitted to large funding agencies in Latin America, Switzerland, and Europe or to combine already existing and independently funded projects. The Leading House invites scholars from Switzerland to propose mono- or interdisciplinary research projects in any Latin American country, involving bilateral or multilateral partnerships. Thomson Reuters Foundation — Rural Poverty and Agriculture

The Thomson Reuters Foundation invites journalists from Latin America to register for a workshop on rural poverty and agriculture. The program will build the capacity of journalists to cover food security, food production, markets and climate issues. Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders — Training Program 2023

The Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders’ training program helps develop early-career conservation professionals through a combination of skills training, networking opportunities, and the completion of a global wildlife conservation initiative. Participation in the program lasts for two years. Applicants should have at least three years experience in wildlife conservation, with at least 15 years in the profession ahead of them. The Thomson Reuters Foundation offers a free communication course for organizations in Brazil working in communication and journalism. The hybrid course will consist of a series of 4 weeks of training in which participants will receive training in parallel with climate journalists.
