Nominations are open for Forbes’ Sustainability Leaders list. Forbes seeks leaders spanning all industries and disciplines in recognition that a diverse climate movement is critical. Forbes Sustainability Leaders will serve as a directory of those driving the innovative and scalable solutions the world needs. The list is open to visionary startup founders mobilizing and scaling technological advancements, C-Suite executives taking risks and accelerating current gold-standard climate policy, scientists, policymakers, social advocates, investors, storytellers, and artists. World Food Forum — Startup Innovation Awards

The World Food Forum Startup Innovation Awards is a global startup competition to support and showcase innovators and entrepreneurs who harness technology to drive the sustainable transformation of agrifood systems to end global hunger. The World Food Forum seeks applications for the 2024 Extreme Tech Challenge. The competition is open to companies whose work impacts an element of agrifood systems: production, aggregation, processing, distribution, consumption, and disposal of food products. The Awards provide finalists and award winners the potential for global visibility, and the ability to raise capital. The closing date for applications is 08 June 2024. Save Our Seas Foundation — Small Grants 2024

Save Our Seas makes grants for marine research, conservation, and education worldwide. Only projects concerned with marine chondrichthyan species (sharks, rays, skates, sawfishes, and chimaeras) will be considered. Small grants (average about US$5 thousand) are made to early-career scientists for projects of up to 12-18 months. The application deadline is 28 June 2024. SOSF Small Grants

AFS Intercultural Programs — Global STEM Accelerator

The Global STEM Accelerator is a program for women and girls who desire to learn more about STEM fields that men traditionally dominate. Scholarship winners will participate in 12-week all-virtual programs focusing on emerging and critical STEM skills and fields, global competence education, and social impact. Applicants must be young women ages 15-17.5 years old. The application deadline is 01 July 2024. Global STEM Accelerator

Aquapreneur Innovation Initiative — Water Pollution Challenge

The Aquapreneur Innovation Initiative aims to find innovative solutions to conserve and restore freshwater ecosystems. Aquapreneur seeks high-potential solutions to prevent water pollution and reduce the environmental impacts of contaminated water. Solutions could include advanced filtration, the elimination of wastewater discharges, decision support systems to provide accurate and accessible data for measuring options for both the public and industries, as well as household water testing and filtration. Up to 10 innovators will each be eligible to receive CHF 175 thousand in co-financing. The challenge is open for submissions until 12 August 2024. Tackling Water Pollution Challenge

CS Fund and Warsh-Mott Legacy — Agriculture and Food Sovereignty

The CS Fund and Warsh-Mott Legacy take an activist approach in making grants to defend the traditional management of agriculture and natural resources in the Global South. Specific interests include protecting local seeds and reducing chemicals in agriculture; regulating the introduction of genetically modified organisms; and supporting communities in their self-governance of natural resources. Recent grants include several for Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. Most grants are under US$20 thousand. Letters of inquiry can be sent at any time. Details here

Institute of International Education — Scholar Rescue Fund

The IIE Scholar Rescue Fund (IIE-SRF) provides fellowships for professors, researchers, and public intellectuals who face threats to their lives and careers in their home countries. Fellows will receive temporary academic positions at institutions of higher learning anywhere in the world where they can continue their work in safety. Professors, senior researchers, and public intellectuals from any country, academic field, or discipline may qualify. Applications from women and members of ethnic, racial, cultural, or religious minority groups, or those otherwise underrepresented in their fields, are especially encouraged. UK Royal Society — International Exchanges 2024

The Royal Society’s International Exchanges Scheme makes grants to scientists based in the UK who seek new international collaborations. The scheme covers all areas of life and physical sciences, except clinical medicine. Applicants may request up to £12 thousand for travel to/from all countries outside the UK. Earth Journalism Network — Media Partnership Reporting Fellowships to COP29

The Climate Change Media Partnership announces the COP29 Reporting Fellowship Program for journalists from low- and middle-income countries interested in covering the 29th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29). The Fellowship will cover economy-class airfare, accommodation, meals, travel medical insurance, and ground transportation costs related to participation. The deadline is 06 June 2024. Link to CCMP

Ministry of Economy and Planning, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia — Regenerative Blue Economy Challenge

The Regenerative Blue Economy Challenge calls for solutions to reduce marine pollution and promote ecosystem protection, restoration, and rewilding.
