The Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program (RSMFP) provides support to PhD candidates from developing countries to conduct PhD research on a development topic in a World Bank member country other than the Fellow’s home country. The funding is for 6-10 months in any field of applied research that addresses poverty alleviation. The fellowship offers compensation, totaling $42,750 per fellow. Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World — Early-Career Fellowship
The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) supports female scientists in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Least Developed Countries (LDCs) with doctoral fellowships in the natural sciences. The early-career fellowships are for the pursuit of a doctoral degree at a host institution in a developing country that is not the applicant’s home country. The Fellowship is for two years and provides up to US$50 thousand. Applicants should be qualified young women science graduates (generally below 40 years of age), who have an M.Sc. degree or outstanding B.Sc. in the natural sciences. Panthera — Grants for Research and Conservation of Wild Cats
Panthera makes grants for research and conservation of the world’s populations of wild cats. The Kaplan Graduate Awards Program (up to US$15 thousand) supports conservation efforts of young biology graduate students working on all wild felids in situ, with a particular focus on threatened species. The Sabin Snow Leopard Grants Program supports in situ conservation efforts on the snow leopard in Asia. The Small Cat Action Fund (up to US$15 thousand) supports in situ conservation and research on many of the world’s 31 small cat species. The Winston Cobb Memorial Fellowship is made to an exceptional early-career conservationist to undertake a field-based internship for training and experience on a wild cat conservation project selected by Panthera. Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship — Training for Social Entrepreneurs
The Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship accepts applications for an accelerator program focused on social enterprises looking to scale a proven impact model. The program is designed for established social entrepreneurs who directly serve people living in poverty who suffer disproportionately from climate change. Climate resilience falls into one of the following three categories: sustainable energy, availability of sustainable management of water and sanitation, and climate-smart agriculture. Non-profit, for-profit, or hybrid social enterprises that have a clear commitment to an earned revenue model with the potential for scale are all encouraged to apply. Fondation Segré provides support to address global conservation efforts specifically focusing on the conservation of globally threatened ungulate species as recognized by the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. The calls aim to safeguard their habitats, address the threats they face, and promote the well-being of both the species themselves and the communities that share the same ecosystems. The maximum grant size for conservation action support is €50 thousand for a maximum duration of 12 months. The maximum grant size for research support is €7 thousand.
