The maximum grant amount is US$25 thousand. To be eligible for funding, organizations must have a USA tax-exempt status (501 (c)(3)) or a Fiscal Sponsor. Green Alley — Green Alley Award 2023
The Green Alley Award is an annual European prize for start-ups and entrepreneurs in the green economy. The award program focuses on business ideas that help build a circular economy and improve the waste and recycling industry. The contest finalists will be invited to Berlin to compete for a cash prize of €25 thousand, working space in Berlin for six months, and opportunities to raise additional funding. One Day’s Wages — Matching Grants
One Day’s Wages is a grassroots movement to alleviate extreme global poverty. Matching grants require partners to raise a portion of the grant funds, which are then matched by One Day’s Wages dollar for dollar. Matching grant requests from first-time partners is US$5,000 – US$30 thousand. Projects must fit within one or more of ODW’s focus areas, which include Climate Impact, and Water & Sanitation, among others. Applicants must be a registered non-governmental nonprofit organization. The OCBC Sustainability Innovation Challenge aims to create value and positive changes to promote a sustainable energy transition. The Challenge welcomes startups that possess solutions that can be adapted to address one or more challenge statements. OCBC offers a prize pool of SGD150 thousand and winning teams stand a chance to pilot their solutions with TotalEnergies. Participants can be located anywhere in the world but must have an interest in developing and implementing your solutions with organizations in Southeast Asia after the Challenge. Global Diversity Foundation offers an online and in-person Fellowship for leaders of Global South grassroots organizations working at the intersection of biodiversity and livelihoods. The program will help participants to fundraise for their projects, successfully implement and measure their impact, and grow a supportive peer-learning and mentoring community. The Fellowship is open to applicants from the Global South who are leaders or project managers in local civil society or grassroots organizations whose work focuses on the intersection of biodiversity conservation and community livelihoods. The Agricultural Greater Good Initiative helps to identify measures that can increase crop yields and improve livestock welfare and productivity to alleviate poverty and hunger in the developing world. The Grand Prize winner will receive up to US$350 thousand of in-kind consumables and/or services. Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World — OWSD-Elsevier Foundation Awards
The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD) supports early-career women scientists in Sub-Saharan Africa and Least Developed Countries (LDCs) with doctoral fellowships in the natural sciences. The applicant must have received her PhD in a scientific discipline within the previous ten years and whose current scientific research is related to the area of water, sanitation, and hygiene. Five grantees receive a cash grant of US$5 thousand and an all-expenses-paid trip to attend a relevant international conference. Applicants should be qualified young women science graduates (generally below 40 years of age), who have an M.Sc. degree or outstanding B.Sc. in the natural sciences.
