Save Our Seas Foundation — Ocean Storytelling Photography Grant

The Save Our Seas Foundation (SOS) seeks photographers who tell conservation stories about the oceans. The call is not limited underwater photography. Story topics can range from the animals themselves, to fisheries to the communities whose lives are intertwined with marine life. Four successful grantees will receive a fully-funded assignment to shoot a conservation photo story on location, under direct mentorship from professional photographers from National Geographic. Award includes US$2 thousand cash prize, day rate for 3 to 4-week shoot, a year of mentorship, and logistical costs for shoot covered. SOS seeks to support early-career storytellers, therefore, applicants must have no more than 5 years of professional experience in any photography related discipline. Ocean Conservation Trust — Small Grants for Conservation Projects

The Ocean Conservation Trust offers small grants to organizations or individuals that deliver conservation projects. Projects can be research-based, educational or community events but must contribute towards a healthy Ocean. There is no geographical restriction on where projects might be located. MDPI — Remote Sensing Young Investigator Award 2024

MDPI, a publisher of peer-reviewed, open access journals, invites nominations for the Remote Sensing 2024 Young Investigator Award. The winner will receive CHF2000. This prize will be given to one young investigator in recognition of their contribution to the advancement of remote sensing science or applications. United Nations Framework Convention of Climate Change — Water Changemaker Awards 2023

Water Changemaker Awards is a global initiative that aims to recognize high-level commitment and leadership for climate resilient water investments to support a water-secure world. The initiative promotes the most promising climate resilient innovations to enable them to access new and innovative finance sources. Selected Water Changemakers will receive technical assistance and seed funding to scale up their innovations. Entities are eligible if they have been operating for at least one year. Amphibian Ark — Conservation Grants 2024

Amphibian Ark offers a wide variety of conservation grants for amphibian research and conservation. Start-up grants are one-time grants of US$5 thousand to help newly-launched projects get started at the very beginning. Start-up grant extensions of US$3 thousand provide continued support for AArk seed or start-up grant projects. Workshop grants of up to US$750 are available to attend conservation-related workshops. Mentorship grants of up to US$1500 are available to organizations which have previously received an AArk seed or start-up grant. Emergency grants offer limited funding to past recipients of AArk grants for emergency situations such as emergency rescue of wild populations facing imminent threat of extinction. Projects should work with species in their range countries, involve range-country biologists, conform to biosecurity standards, and observe other guidelines explained on the website. MDPI — Remote Sensing Travel Award 2024

MDPI, a publisher of peer-reviewed, open access journals, invites applications for the 2024 Remote Sensing Travel Awards. Remote Sensing will make two awards of CHF800 each to two selected PhD students to present an oral presentation and/or poster at an international conference in 2024. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia — Smarter Climate Farmers Challenge

The Smarter Climate Farmers Challenge calls for innovations that show the ability of farmers and people working within land and food systems to use climate-smart agriculture approaches. Submissions from across the globe that are scalable in their local contexts and potentially replicable are eligible. Start-ups, social enterprises, small and mid-sized enterprises, and non-profit organizations with a clearly defined, income-generating project may apply. The application deadline is 10 August 2023. United Nations Development Programme — Conscious Food Systems Alliance

The Conscious Food Systems Alliance (CoFSA) supports people from across food and agriculture systems to cultivate the inner capacities that activate systemic change and regeneration. The Alliance seeks projects to test and demonstrate how consciousness approaches can strengthen inner capacities that in turn help accelerate the transformation of food systems, and to generate a set of learnings and learning resources. UNDP will fund approximately four pilot interventions of up to US$20 thousand. Proposals can be submitted by applicants in any location. Individuals are not eligible. United Nations Development Programme — Scaling up Climate Ambition on Land Use and Agriculture

The SCALA Private Sector Engagement Facility seeks to identify private sector-oriented interventions to engage businesses in implementing climate plans to mobilize resources and develop innovative climate services solutions. The call for interest to receive support from the SCALA PSE Facility is open to Small Island Developing States and middle-income countries. Each country is eligible for a total budget of US$50 thousand. One proposal is allowed per country. The deadline to submit expressions of interest is 19 August 2023. SCALA

United Nations Development Programme — Accelerated Blue Economy

The Ocean Innovation Challenge (OIC) seeks proposals that will stimulate socio-economic growth while restoring and conserving the coastal and marine ecosystems. The call invites approaches that create new and additional blue economy opportunities, such as innovations to improve fisheries and aquaculture management, ecotourism opportunities, or sustainable uses of marine resources empowering local coastal communities. Selected innovators will receive up to US$40 thousand to pilot their innovation within a period of maximum six months.
