Teach A Man To Fish — School Enterprise Challenge 2023

The School Enterprise Challenge is an international business program for schools run by the educational charity Teach A Man To Fish. It guides and supports teachers and students to plan and set up real, sustainable school businesses and generate real profits to help support their school or a social cause of their choice. Thematic areas include agriculture, drinking water and sanitation, and the environment, among others. Prizes are between US$250 and US$5 thousand, including in-kind donations like laptops and cameras. Please note that only pre-primary schools, primary schools, secondary schools and technical/vocational colleges are eligible (universities are not eligible to apply). Explorers Club — Discovery Expedition Grants

The Explorers Club offers expedition grants to field researchers. Grants can be used to cover fieldwork in biological sciences, archaeology, anthropology, paleontology, earth sciences, ecology, and astronomy. Grants support researchers and explorers from around the world and generally range from US$25 thousand to US$40 thousand. (Note: Grant recipients must provide first right of refusal to cover their expedition, and will have access to Discovery Channel’s global audience through their digital and television programing.) Credit Suisse — Lead 2030 Challenge for SDG 14 (Life Below Water)

The Young One World Lead2030 Challenge for SDG 14 seeks solutions that could protect and/or restore existing ocean based resources. The challenge welcomes solutions from entrepreneurs with for-profit enterprises. The winner will receive a US$50 thousand project startup grant and 12-months of mentorship from Credit Suisse. Future Africa Leaders Foundation — Future Africa Challenge

The Future Africa Challenge is a competition to explore the creative potentials of young Africans in Africa and the diaspora. The Challenge seeks projects or solutions of young innovators within 7 categories: Education, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Humanitarian, Agriculture, Advocacy and Movie. Applicants must be between the ages of 15-25 years. The winners of each category receive a cash grant of US$10 thousand. The application deadline is 31 March 2023. Future Africa Challenge

Udaan Youth Club Tyodhi — YouthLeadG20 Fellowship Program

The YouthLeadG20 Fellowship Program is a virtual forum for young changemakers to share their opinion around the possibilities of India’s G20 Presidency and youth-related focus areas, including Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction, among others. Selected fellows will be promoted to YouthLeadG20 ambassador in their countries, certification and direct consideration for similar opportunities. United Nations — World Wildlife Day Film Showcase

The United Nations World Wildlife Day organizes a youth art contest along the theme of “Partnerships for Wildlife Conservation”. Organizers seek art that highlights people making a difference for wildlife. The contest is open to artists from the ages of 4 to 18, entrants will choose a species that has benefited from conservation, and then illustrate it as an individual animal or in its native habitat. African Leadership Forum — Youth Leadership Competition

The African Leadership Forum (ALF) invited applications for the Youth Leadership Competition. The theme is “Promoting African intra-trade to unlock agricultural potential in Africa”. African citizens between the age of 18 – 25 years are invited to submit essays on possible solutions to unlock Africa’s agricultural potential. A grand prize of US$2,000 will be awarded to the overall winner. The deadline for submitting entries is 10 January 2023. Details

Connect4Climate — Climate Ambassador Program

Connect4Climate invites young professionals to apply to the 2023 Max Thabiso Edkins Climate Ambassador Program (MTECAP). The MTECAP is a six-month online program that offers a mix of technical and hands-on sessions providing young ambassadors with in-depth knowledge to implement meaningful climate action both in their communities and globally. Global Landscapes Forum — Social Media Ambassadors

The Global Landscapes Forum launches a call for young voices from all over the world to become GLF Social Media Ambassadors for 2023. The volunteer program offers free tickets and a behind-the-scenes look at all GLF and partner events, social media workshops and learning programs and a personalized certificate. The Commonwealth Secretary-General — Global Ocean Competition

The Commonwealth Secretary-General and the Commonwealth Youth Climate Change Network (CYCN) launch a global competition to inspire young people to take action on oceans. The Youth Action Challenge will award three young activists with £1,000 each for their work towards the realization of conserving and sustainably using oceans, seas and marine resources. Applicants must be aged 18-30, and come from a Commonwealth country, to enter. The competition closes on 08 December 2022. Learn more
