Global Environmental Education Partnership — Youth Innovation Challenge 2022

The Youth Innovation Challenge (YIC) invites applicants from 15 to 30 years of age to propose innovative solutions to a pressing environmental issue affecting our marine ecosystems, using environmental education as a key strategy. All proposed solutions should demonstrate how environmental education can help address complex environmental issues and create long-lasting change for a sustainable future. Global Environmental Education Partnership seeks solutions that are innovative, feasible, and informed by research. Three solutions will be awarded a US$1000 prize. PEMSEA — Youth and the Oceans Video Competition

The Youth and the Oceans video competition aims to showcase the understanding the youth have of their oceans. The videos can have any subject associated with the theme Coastal communities, life with the ocean. It should be a 3 to 5-minute video, created entirely from material filmed/created by youth. The competition is open to high school students, university students, and amateurs up to 30 years old. Entry must be an original video filmed in one of the following East Asian countries: Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, DPR Korea, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Philippines, RO Korea, Singapore, Timor-Leste, Thailand, or Vietnam. WYSE International — SDG Program for Young Leaders

WYSE International seeks applications for the “Global Change Makers: Leadership Coaching for the Sustainable Development Goals” opportunity. Successful applicants will participate in a free year-long coaching program with leadership professionals. WYSE International accepts applications for projects which support the following Sustainable Development Goals: Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy, and Climate Action, among others. New York Academy of Sciences — Mentoring Program for Girls in STEM

The New York Academy of Sciences’ virtual mentoring program ‘1000 Girls, 1000 Futures’ and ‘The Junior Academy’ accept applications from female students ages 13-17 from around the world. The program connects STEM-focused high school girls to female science mentors and offers an online community with STEM resources. The program also accepts applications of female scientists interested in mentoring young girls. Students and mentors gain access to a STEM network and receive a free 1-year membership to the New York Academy of Sciences. Applications are due by 30 June 2022. About the program

ChangemakerXchange — Climate Action Summit

ChangemakerXchange launches a global intersectional climate action program that supports the world’s leading climate action changemakers and activists from different regions. In 2022, there will be three in-person summits and a follow-up community and capacity-building program in Europe, MENA, and North America. Applicants must come from or be currently living in one of the eligible countries and be aged 18 – 35. Participants are asked to cover their own transportation costs. Islamic Development Bank — Just Transitions towards Environmentally Sustainable Economies

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) invites youth-led organizations to propose innovative ideas and solutions to support a just transition towards environmentally sustainable economies and societies. The “Youth Green Skills Accelerator Challenge” seeks to equip youths (15-35 years old) living in Islamic States with the competencies required for supporting a just transition in their communities. Up to 10 finalists will receive mentoring and training for a period of one week to improve their projects. The top three ideas will be awarded US$50 thousand, US$30 thousand, and US$20 thousand respectively, to implement the proposed solution. Ideas must be submitted no later than 12 August 2022. International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development — Mountain Prize 2022

The International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) seeks nominations for the 2022 Mountain Prize. The Prize is awarded to an individual or organization which has demonstrated outstanding efforts enabling sustainable and resilient mountain development in the Hindu Kush Himalayan region. The prize is currently set at US$ 2,500. Thematic areas include access to water for drinking or/and sanitation, food/nutrition security, climate change adaptation or/and disaster risk reduction, access to clean energy, ecosystems/biodiversity management, and two others. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations — World Food Day Poster Contest (Age 5-19)

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FOA) calls on children and teens from all over the world (age 5 to 19) to use their imagination and create a poster showing a world where no one is left behind, and everyone has access to healthy and affordable food. ASEAN Centre for Energy — ASEAN Energy Youth Awards 2022

The ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE) announces the ASEAN Energy Youth Awards (AEYA) in recognition of young students’ valuable contribution to sustainable development and energy transition. The theme of the 3rd award is “Accelerating Energy Transition towards Economic Recovery and Sustainable Growth.” The winners and runners-up will be invited to the 40th of ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting in September 2022 and receive small cash prizes. The Joke Waller-Hunter (JWH) Initiative offers grants to advance the leadership of young individuals working for or affiliated with environmental civil society organizations in developing and emerging countries.
