International Water Resources Association — World Water Envoys

The International Water Resources Association (IWRA) invites applications for the World Water Envoys Program. Water Envoys will have the opportunity to participate in the 18th edition of the IWRA World Water Congress (China, September 2023) to discuss water issues and potential solutions. Envoys will be funded to come to Beijing, including economy round-trip, accommodation, full registration to the Congress, and one-year free membership to IWRA. Africa Matters Initiative — Development Program for Young African Women

The Africa Matters Initiative (AMI) accepts applications for ShE is Empowered. ShE is Empowered is a one-year online development program for young African women and girls focused on leadership and social entrepreneurship. AMI will provide seed funding to assist with the execution of community engagement projects. Applicants have to be between 15-29 years old and live in Ghana, Malawi, Egypt, Botswana, Kenya, Tunisia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, or Sierra Leone. Social Shifters — Global Climate Challenge

The Social Shifters and Rathbones seek applications to the Global Climate Challenge. The program is designed to enable young people (18-30 years) to explore ideas that will help accelerate the shift to net zero emissions. The challenge looks for ideas, projects and business solutions from anywhere in the world that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions. African Leadership Academy — Anzisha Prize for Young Innovators 2023

The Anzisha Prize seeks young innovators ages 15-22 in Africa who develop and implement innovative solutions to challenges facing their communities. Past awards include innovations in energy, agriculture, and ecological consumer products. The grand prize winners will share prizes worth US$140 thousand. Malmar Knowles Family Foundation — Youth Leadership Program

The Knowles Educational and Charitable Trust for International Leadership (Kectil) Program is a one year web-based mentoring program in youth leadership. The program consists of multiple-week modules with assignments to address issues facing youth globally. Youth (aged 17-26) from developing countries are eligible to apply. U.S. Department of State — TechGirls 2023

TechGirls is an international summer exchange program designed to empower and inspire young women from around the world to pursue careers in science and technology. The program is open to teenage girls (ages 15-17) from eligible countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, East Asia and Pacific, Europe and Eurasia, the Middle East and North Africa, South and Central Asia, and Latin America. TechGirls covers the costs of travel, accommodation and meals for participation in the technology camp hosted by Virginia Tech University. The application will close on 16 December 2022. Yale University — Yale Young African Scholars 2023

Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) offers an academic summer program for secondary school students from across Africa. The program offers online and in-person programs in four interdisciplinary sessions on Innovations in Science & Technology and Solving Global Challenges. Admitted participants will have access to pre-recorded videos before the start of the program and attend live sessions. There is no tuition cost to participate in the program. International Research & Exchanges Board — Community Solutions Program

The International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX) seeks applications for its Community Solutions Program (CSP) 2023–2024 with the aim to improve communities by addressing issues related to the environment, among others. The Community Solutions Program is a year-long professional development program with a four-month fellowship in the United States. To be eligible, applicants must be between the ages of 25 and 38 (as of 01 January 2023). Eligible countries from Sub-Saharan Africa, Middle East and North Africa, Eastern Europe, East Asia and the Pacific, South and Central Asia, and Latin America are listed in the announcement. U.S. Department of State — Algerian Youth Leadership Program

The Algerian Youth Leadership Program at the University of Nevada (Reno, USA) is a leadership development opportunity for Algerian and American youth, ages 15-17. The program offers workshops and activities about civic participation and the role that social enterprises play in a community. Youth who are eligible to apply must be a legal citizen of Algeria, be 15-17 years old and have at least one year of high school remaining after the program. U.S. Department of State — Small Grants for Young Leaders in Southeast Asia

The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a program of the U.S. government to support bright young leaders ages 18-35 in the ASEAN countries. YSEALI Seeds for the Future is a small grants competition that provides funding of up to $15 thousand for promising young leaders to carry out projects that improve their communities. The four core themes are (1) Civic Engagement, (2) Education, (3) Economic Empowerment and Social Entrepreneurship, and (4) Environmental Issues. The application deadline is 11 November 2022.
