The Unilever Young Entrepreneurs Awards invite nominations of individuals ages 18 to 35 anywhere in the world who have initiatives, products, or services that address sustainability challenges in three categories. The categories are ‘improve people’s health and well-being’; ‘improve the health of the planet’; and ‘contribute to a fairer and more socially inclusive world’. Unilever will recognise up to eight winners in 2019, each of whom will be awarded a cash prize in addition to one-to-one mentoring support for a year. The overall winner will receive the “HRH The Prince of Wales Young Sustainability Entrepreneur Prize” of €50 thousand, the remaining winners will each receive a €8.5 thousand cash award. Samsung Engineering — Environmental Essay Competition 2019
Samsung Engineering jointly with UN Environment launches the 12th Eco-generation Environmental Essay Competition inviting the youth all over the world to raise awareness on the theme “Beat Air Pollution”. The competition aims to collect inspiring and creative ideas on why we should reduce air pollution with regards to its causes, effects, and consequences. U.S. Department of State — Regional Workshops for ASEAN NGOs
The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) is a program of the U.S. government to support bright young leaders ages 18-35 in the ASEAN countries. YSEALI seeks organizations to implement a five day workshop in Malaysia to boost the strategic communication and advocacy skills of NGOs in Southeast Asia. The workshop should build capacity in working with the media and focus on human and wildlife trafficking and environmental sustainability. Funding of US$250 thousand is available. Eligible participants must be citizens from Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Laos, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, or Timor-Leste. The application deadline is 30 June 2019. Takeda Foundation — Young Entrepreneurship Award 2019
The Takeda Foundation accepts applications for the Takeda Young Entrepreneurship Award. The Award is for young entrepreneurs trying to address real technological and social needs by creating goods and services that enhance the well-being of communities around the world. Past winners include projects in the field of water management, disaster-relief and biotechnology, among others. The winner of the Best Entrepreneur Award will receive 1 million Japanese yen. U.S. Department of State — Go Green on Campuses and in Surrounding Communities
The U.S. Department of State announces an exchange program between South African and American undergraduate students and nearby youth community leaders. The program provides grants to projects with the aim to organize sessions on aspects of environmental preservation/conservation and help participants to develop a plan to implement a conservation/environmental preservation plan on their campuses and in their communities. Stockholm International Water Institute — Stockholm Junior Water Prize 2020
Each year, the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) co-operates with a national organisation that arranges a national Stockholm Junior Water Prize (SJWP) competition. SJWP is open for projects striving to improve water quality, water resources management, water protection, water and wastewater treatment. The competition is open to young people between the ages of 15 and 20. The winner receives US$15 thousand, a crystal sculpture, a diploma as well as the stay in Stockholm during the World Water Week. Access Agriculture — Training for Young Agricultural Entrepreneurs
Access Agriculture invites applicants for the Young Entrepreneur Challenge Fund. Participants have the chance to propose innovative business ideas or expand their existing business, around the dissemination of agricultural videos. Selected young entrepreneurs will receive a Digisoft smart projector with an in-built computer that contains a library with over 200 training videos. The Western Union Foundation Global Scholarship Program is a program designed to support young people and their efforts to pursue a post-secondary education in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or business/entrepreneurship. Selected scholarship recipients will receive US$2,500 each to contribute toward tuition at an accredited post-secondary institution.
