United Nations — Local Pathways Fellowship

The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network – Youth Initiative (SDSN Youth) recruits participants for its 2024 cohort of the Local Pathways Fellows. The 10-months fellowship program provides young leaders with a platform, capacity building, training opportunities and contacts of leading development experts and practitioners. The Local Pathways Fellowship is unpaid. Fellows will benefit from global visibility and exposure. Young candidates (18-30 years) working towards achieving any of the Sustainable Development Goals and representing any city or country in the world are encouraged to apply. Singapore International Foundation — Young Social Entrepreneurs

Young Social Entrepreneurs (YSE) Global is an eight-month program for young changemakers who wish to start or scale up their social enterprises in Singapore and beyond. Participants have access to online workshops, remote mentorship, regional learning and pitching sessions. Shortlisted teams have the chance to win S$20 thousand in funding to launch or scale their social enterprise. Eligibility extends to individuals aged between 18 to 35 years, with a viable and innovative business solution to a social issue anywhere in the world. World Bank — Youth Innovation Challenge

The World Bank invites youth aquapreneurs (age 18-35) to apply to the Youth Innovation Challenge: Water Solutions for a New Climate Reality. Participants will receive training, support, and mentorship from World Bank professionals. The challenge is open to youth entrepreneurs from around the world. Vienna Biocenter — Summer School

The Vienna Biocenter Summer School provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to work side by side with leading researchers in a dynamic scientific environment. Each fellow will be allocated a faculty member, with whom they will work closely. The research project will focus on a current topic in the allocated lab. Selected fellows receive free student accommodation, a stipend of €1400 euros, medical insurance and other benefits. The Vienna Biocenter welcomes applications from students from all around the world who are undergraduates/master students, and have completed at least two years of university study in a Life Sciences related study. PEMSEA — East Asian Seas Congress Youth Forum

The East Asian Seas Congress Youth Forum (April 2024) aims to bring together young leaders across the East Asian Seas region to have a deeper understanding of the marine environment, and impacts of climate change. Citizens of the following countries are eligible to apply: Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Lao PDR, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Singapore, Timor-Leste, Vietnam. Applicants must be 21 to 35 years old and have, at least, one year exposure or experience in marine science, marine conservation, or any related fields. All travel and forum expenses will be covered by PEMSEA and the Korea National Ocean Science Museum. East Asian Seas Congress

Science Park Graz — Startup Idea Competition 2024

The Science Park Graz invites young inventors to submit their business ideas to the Startup Idea Competition in one of six categories, including Energy & Environment. The winners in each category will be invited to the award ceremony in Graz, Austria (April 2024) and receive €2 thousand each. The deadline for idea submission is 28 February 2024. Siemens — Tech for Sustainability

Tech for Sustainability Campaign is a global initiative for students, researchers, startups and innovative individuals to leverage technology to solve real-world sustainability challenges. Challenges include climate resilience, and global energy. Every challenge listed needs a feasible and technologically viable solution to implement it commercially. Siemens offers €60 thousand total prize money. The deadline for applications is 05 December 2023. Link

Opportunity Desk — Impact Challenge

The OD Impact Challenge seeks to recognize and support the efforts of young people working to bring positive change to their communities. The top three winners will share a cash prize of US$1,000, The opportunity to compete for a seed grant of up US$2,500 and personalized mentoring. Rise — Global Talent Program

Rise is a global talent program for young people (ages 15 to 17) from around the world. Each year, Rise will select 100 winners and provide them with need-based financial support for university and internships, mentorship and career services, and access to funding to scale up their social impact throughout their careers. The program is open to any type of young talents, including environmentalists, musicians, artists, performers, product developers, software engineers, researchers, or social or political movement leaders. Deloitte — One Young World Scholarships 2024

Deloitte offers One Young World Scholarships which will enable 5 outstanding young leaders to attend the One Young World Summit in Montreal, Canada (September 2024). The scholarship is intended for young leaders focused on reducing the causes and effects of climate change in their communities, countries, or world at large. Scholars will receive access to the One Young World Summit 2024, hotel accommodation, the cost of travel to and from Montreal, and catering.
