Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation — Youth Actions Challenge

The 1 Million Youth Actions Challenge supports youth-led initiatives related to clean water and sanitation, responsible consumption and production, climate action & biodiversity. Youth between 15 and 24 years from all around the world are invited to submit their solutions and projects. Selected projects will receive financial support up to C$5 thousand each and technical support. The call is open until 16 July 2023. Youth Actions Challenge

Ashley Lashley Foundation — Global Climate Fund

The Global HEY Climate Fund aims to assist three young climate activists with their projects. The selected projects will receive US$5 thousand each. Applicants must submit proposals or an idea surrounding the topics: Climate Change and Health, Climate Change, Water Conservation and Food Security, Solid Waste Management and Climate Change. International Water Resources Association — Publication Mentorship Initiative

The International Water Resources Association (IWRA) invites early-career water professionals to submit applications for the Publication Mentorship Initiative. The program aims to facilitate and encourage mentoring junior water professionals through the development of articles that are publishable in academic journals. Applicants must be academics, advanced post-graduate students, or professionals working in the water sector no older than 35 years. Applications must be submitted no later than 31 July 2023. Sustainable Energy for All — Sustainable Cooling Solutions

Sustainable Energy for All seeks youth-led sustainable cooling solutions that can improve affordability and increase access to sustainable cooling. Entries may be submitted by individuals or groups, all under 35 years of age. Three teams will receive a cash prize and further support from the competition sponsors. Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations — World Food Day Poster Contest (Age 5-19)

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FOA) calls on children and teens from all over the world (age 5 to 19) to use their imagination and create a poster of their water action for food. “Water is life, water is food” explores the ways this precious natural resource is important for food and for all of nature. Winners will be promoted by FAO offices around the world and receive a surprise gift bag. Entries have to be submitted by 03 November 2023. Submit a poster

Teach A Man To Fish — Trash To Cash Challenge

The Trash To Cash Challenge seeks young innovators who want to  launch a business which has a positive impact on the environment. The Challenge is to collect materials normally thought of as ‘trash’ or waste and create a new product with them. Then, participants have one day to sell their product and make as much cash as possible. Prizes are awarded to our most inspiring Ecopreneurs. Fishbowl Challenge — Competition for Social Entrepreneurs

The Fishbowl Challenge brings college students from around the world together to solve the world’s most complex social and environmental problems. Students from all around the world are invited to apply and join a team of 4 peers to form a Fishbowl Team, come up with an approach to solve an important global issue chosen from 5 focus areas (including Environmental Protection and Renewable Energy) and develop a business plan. The winning team will receive up to US$50 thousand in prize money to develop their ideas further. Undergraduate and graduate (Master’s) university students from all countries are eligible to apply. European Commission — Development in Pacific Island Countries

The European Commission (EC) aims to empower civil society in the Pacific Island countries to influence policy and decision making processes. The priority areas for this call for proposals are community adaptation and resilience to climate change, economic empowerment (e.g., preserving economic livelihoods through small-scale farming), and supporting youth. Applicants can request between €150 thousand and €600 thousand for project implementation. The deadline for the submission of concept notes is 13 June 2023. Know more

Cultural Survival — Indigenous Youth Fellowships

The Indigenous Youth Fellowship Project supports young Indigenous leaders between the ages of 17-28. Fellows work to represent the voices of their communities and bring awareness of local issues in the transition to renewable energy to global conversation. Grants range from US$2,500 to US$6,000. Eligible countries and regions are Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Panama, Venezuela, United States, Canada, Australia, DRC, Uganda, Indonesia, Sweden, Finland, Greenland, and Norway. United Nations Development Programme — Young Leaders Development Program

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Samsung Mobile announce Generation17 – a joint initiative aimed at empowering young changemakers to achieve Sustainable Development Goals. Samsung and UNDP provide mentorship, technology, and networking opportunities to 14 young leaders across six world regions. Applicants need to be between 18-30 years at the time of application.
